lyn, i was thinking that, but we have been told where to eat by a guy who works with my husband who is polish, and we are going self catering too, maybe i should have a bit in reserve too, thanks....
We are going at the end of March as well and we are looking forward to it so much just hope it warms up just a little bit
hope so i have just done a 10 day forcast andit ranges from -2 to 4c that take it up to 22 march, there is lost of cloud and snow in there hopfully it will be a tad warmer for us
Just take plenty of layers as it will be warm in the cafes and restaurants. Thinish vests, blouses and cardigans are best. Don't forget a waterproof coat, hat, scarf & gloves & a comfy pair of shoes. You might get lucky and it will be mild, but you'll be having such a good time you won't notice the cold.
this is going to be harder than packing for india...
having said that my daughter went a couple of weeks before and had miserable weather and friends that went the week after us had snow .
As Helen says just take layers , I took t shirts , a couple of jumpers , Jeans , hats , scarves , gloves and pack some thermal long johns and socks if you have any just in case .
lyn
I'll be taking my big coat & a few jumpers but im not too worried about the cold as ive been Prague / Cologne which were both freezing & its an excuse for the pub
Daft I know but the cold is different when you're in such a lovely place. Enjoy

Buy one out there Adele. They're very stylish.!
Anyone know what are the best taxis to use to get a transfer to the city centre from the airport ?
http://www.krakowadvisor.com . We also used them for our trip to Auchwitz (around £50 as just a taxi service)and our return to the airport
We used these people Legs . found them recommended on the TA site and they were brilliant and at the time the best price -

Just back from Poland. Had a fabulous time. Spent two days in Zakopane, snow was amazing, locals say they haven't had snow like it for some time. Went up the funicular railway to the mountain, fabulous views from the top. Zakopane is so picturesque, horse drawn sleighs, twinkling lights at night, log cabins everwhere. Was quite surprised at just how big it is. Travelled down to Krakow for two nights. Stayed in the Wentzl hotel right on the square. Weather in Krakow was rainy, but had a good time. We went to Auschwitz on Monday, heartbreaking, but an experience I am glad we did not miss. We used Bobtaxi for our journeys. Bob picked us up in Zakopane and took us to Auschwitz then dropped us off at the hotel at night in Krakow. What a character Bob aka James Bond is. He is so knowledgeable about everything and took us to little places we would have missed otherwise. He is an excellent guide and knows all the little shortcuts. Poland is such good value for money we could not believe how cheap it was to eat and drink out. We will definately be back.
where do you recomend to eat....
