Hi
When you go out on holiday do you get all dressed up or do you stay in casual gear i.e shorts etc. I tend to get dressed up but I do notice some people just wear shorts etc.
I always dress up. My youngest daughter will be happy to chuck a pair of shorts and tshirt on tie her hair up and go. My eldest daughter takes about 3 hours to do herself up! I always feel it's nice to dress up after a lazy day of 'monging out'
I always like to dress up and put a bit of slap on.
depends on what you mean by going out... if we going on trips which will include Orthodox churches/monasteries then i will wear long trousers and shirt OH will wear long skirt/jeans and take long sleeved over blouse, if you mean out in the evening then yes we always dress for dinner [not in the posh terms] long trousers/shirt/tie and jacket for me and smart skirt and top for her.. no matter what the temperature,
I no longer wear shorts but it really depends on the holiday, I rarely take beach holidays, I usually tour or do active trips and sometimes I'm too tired to get all dressed up in the evenings so might just pick something up at a takeaway but I wouldn't go to a nice restaurant in the clothes I had been wearing all day so I would dress up.
We always smarten up in the evenings and I'll stick some slap on. Hubby will always wear long trousers in the evenings.
Its one of my favourite parts of going on holiday. Love getting ready and dressing up for a night out. I dont go mad, just a nice dress or crop trousers and a top but its nice to do my hair and put a bit of slap on after a lazy day at the beach or pool. Hubby will wear "tidy" shorts usually with a smart tshirt or a short sleeve shirt. He does always take a pair of smart jeans, but rarely wears them.
I'm a jeans person at home so on holiday on an evening out I'll wear my linen cut off's an either a sparkly T shirt (love twinkle) or a nice top. Hubby doesn't take any long trousers on holiday as he says it's too hot so he wears cut off's with a nice shirt.
I always dress in a dress or smart linen trousers and top to go out for the evening. I have to buy a few new things especially, before every holiday. I didn't used to wear the same thing twice but I've now cut back on luggage and will probably take about 10 outfits for 14 nights. Hubby will wear a smart pair of long shorts or 3/4 trousers with a short sleeve shirt and sndals. He never takes long trousers unless we are AI (which is very rare) when there's a dress code for the restaurants.
Last summer is the only time I wore a pair of knee length shorts out in the evening. We were going on a ferry to a neighbouring resort, and we knew we'd be blown away by the breeze - no skirt or dress then! I always put a bit of slap on for the evening - not much, just some tinted moisturiser, bronzer for eyes & cheeks, mascara & lippy.
On the nights we stayed in to eat we always change - shorts for the guys, usually a skirt/strappy top for me and always a bit of jewellery. When we go out to eat a maxi (nice and cool) for me with minimum makeup, some nice 'costume' jewellery and the guys usually 3/4's and a shirt.
i never wear jeans out when at home so definately wouldn't wear them on hols , always dress up to go out , either dresses , long skirts , linen trousers.
Oh yeah I am a linen trouser type person in the evenings. I am too old and too fat for some of the skimpy creations I see some girls out in at night time!
Like to dress up in the evenings
love to dress up at night time, during the day if we are on the beach im in swimsuit or shorts and top , if its goin out during the day to do a trip id wear somthing light but casual. my hair is short so i dont need to do a lot with it wash it and brush it , as i found when i was in goa back in nov, was a waste of time bringing hair dryer, by the time i dryed myself my hair was dry.
I must be in the minority then, because I don't dress up - in fact, I don't even take jewellery or make-up on holiday with me.
oh i take my make up bag, well hubbie calls it my case as its like a vanity case with every thing but the kitchen sink in it, never got to use much of the contents tho, was to warm and i was always having a cloth in my hand wiping my face any way so wot ever little stuff i wore . it was off with in five seconds off putting it on did bring my charm braclets tho wore them over to goa, put them away and didnt wear them again till i was leaving to come home . again hubbie said it was a waste of time bringin them
I always wear Max Factors Lip Finity lippy. It stays on all day/night & isn't greasy. I'm not a big make up wearer. Lippy and mascara & I'm done.
oh thanks for that tip must check it out next time im in boots,
Oh yes, aways make some kind of an effort of an evening on holiday. Nothing posh, nice skirts and tops, strappy sandals maybe a bit of costume jewelry. Same with hubbie, he will always change into a nice short sleeved shirt and cotton trousers, he finds them cooler than shorts, stop you getting bitten by the flying night critters you get on hols, and protects you from ferocious air conditioning in indoor restaurants lol. Have kind of by default trained our kids to do the same, as always taken seperate day clothes and night clothes for them, so they expect to change for dinner.
