Hi guys,
Taking my long term girlfriend to Goa for Xmas and New Year and planning on asking her to marry me on Canoldim Beach while the fireworks are going on. I, personally, think it will be very romantic. But it begs the question, should i buy the ring at home or wait till i ask her then get her one in Goa?
In other words is it cheaper for Gold and Diamond rings in Goa?
What do you think?
Thanks Little Willie
Goa
buy the ring in goa without doubt, you will get far more bling to your buck as the kiddies say these days.
I have brought back our jewellery thread as it gives lots of info. Hope everything goes to plan!
Cheers Fiona, I should have used the search
Don't do it man
chilly
My husband proposed to me in Goa (and bought the ring out there) a few years later we got married in Goa.
Lin's wedding( are you planning a Goan wedding as well Willie??)
I will be in the south on new years. But i will think of you and will set up a firework in your honour
chilly
probably won't get married there. My girlfriend wants everyone she knows there. She has already told me her ideal wedding, as a hint to get engaged i think
all i can remember of last new years eve is that it was very very loud, not really romantic, perhaps take her down to the sea so youre a little further away so you can "get a better view of the fireworks"!
williec thats probably a good idea, whilst its very cheap in some aspects to get married in goa (blessing etc) the actual civil side of the marriage is a royal pain in the butt to arrange and make happen.
Talking of romance, the Taj has a part of one of there restaurants its set with the sea view its like a four poster bed all flowing canopys blowing in the breeze, huge comfy cushions to sit or lay on and a table in the middle its quiet secluded from everyone else there are around 3 or 4 of them its stunning. lit only by candle light. Unfortunetly im single so i didnt get a look in but in all honesty it has to be one of the most beautiful romantic things i ever saw. There is also the luxury tents at the top of the Fort aquada site with what i thought were the best views for the sunset, again they were stunning, four poster bed all mod cons plasma tv dvd, and a beautiful shower area i cant do them justice by my description. Well worth a visit if your in the area just pop into the lobby and ask if you can take a peak at an empty one, they will send you up in a free taxi. Hope this comes in handy for anyone looking for something really sapecial.
chilly
Hi chilly while we were there in feb hardly anybody was using them which is probably why i thought it was so beautiful.
Sunypop do you know do you have to stay at the hotel to have one of the beds or do you know can you just go and book one while you are in goa ....has anyone anymore info re/this (colleen)
Hi Colleen, im sure you dont have to be a guest to book the restaurants but im not sure about the beds, although i should imagine if there not very busy they would prefer them to be used by any customer than none. They are very friendly at caravela so you should give them a ring and check they are using them because if there is a wedding booked or some other big celebration they may not be using them. Hope this helps. Oooh you lucky romantics. Il have to make sure next time i go back with a fella.
Hi friends of our bought their wedding rings on 19th June St in Panjim close to the Dehli Darbour(spelling sorry!) They bought Russian platinum with small diamonds at a quarter of the price they would have been in UK
