Hi Zabka
Just ask for a room with 2 queen beds and that will accommodate three people comfortably (providing 2 are a couple

)
Barbary Coast, Imperial Palace, Flamingo and Ballys are all centre strip and should have the most reasonable rates. I've always found the IP to be cheapest.
Regarding reading bad reviews of all hotels, I've noticed that too. I'm booked into Caesars Palace and the Venetian, two of the better hotels on the strip and even they have mixed reviews.
If I had read the reviews, or rather the comments on TA, of the IP before I booked it, I never would have stayed there. However, bear in mind that the American's tend to be very picky compared to the Brits and we found the hotel to be fine for us. It was comfortable and clean and the rooms are much bigger than you get over here. Some people seem to compare them to the Bellagio, but you're not paying Bellagio prices. If you read the reviews on here you'll find that no-one has a bad word to say about the IP. You don't go to Vegas to stay in your room and for all the time you spend in it, what more do you need?
Another suggestion is to sign up on the website of every hotel you fancy staying at. You should get offers emailed to you. I get regularly from the Ventian, IP and occasionally from the Coast Casinos. I haven't received from any of the other hotels I signed up with however, not even the Aladdin where we stayed in May. The IP often has deals of $59 for a deluxe room.
John, we are flying with bmi with an allowance of 2 cases per person each weighing 32kg too. However we are flying from Aberdeen to Manchester which has a much lower allowance so I hope we are allowed the higher limit with having a through ticket. We've bought so much stuff on previous visits that I don't think we'll buy that much this time so I don't expect our cases to be much over 25kgs each.
