Are you driving from UK to Southern Spain?

We are doing it on Wednesday. Dover/Boulogne with Speedferries £29 single then down to Malaga.

Narial, we are flying to Malaga and picking up a hire car and intend to travel about the area visiting such places as Ronda, Granada etc and I wanted to plan a little ahead as we've never driven in Spain before. Hope your trip goes well.

we have a B&B in Mijas and get a lot of guests who want to visit the same places as you. If you have Satnav with Spain on it, it will be fine for all the major roads and only the really small roads and new urbanisations will be missing. To get a basic plan of distances, use google maps before you come, it has a good "directions to" function and if you have no satnav buy a decent road map when you are down here, every newsagent has one.

we too traveled a few times by ferry then drive through france to Benal,we use satnav,but as said,we were neally directed off the road,down a bit of a drop ,we couldn`t see as it was very dark.

sounds like our road in Mijas.
Satnavs tell people to turn around, they are heading the wrong way all the way through the one way system that has been there 3 years but never shows on any map. Our road is a dead-end but shows on Satnav and the official Mijas tourist map as a normal through road into the centre of the village. Every day we send disconsolate people back the way they came or telling people that despite what it says on their map there is no public right of way through our garden, then our neighbours garden up to the village and no, your car cannot drive off the end of the concreted part of the road 10 feet down to the disused donkey track that looks like a "A" road on the Satnav and map
