Hi pamplemousse, really jealous, we are just back from marmaris on friday. Temp through the day was mid twenties, lovely for sunbathing. N ight time was cooler. Need a cardigan for you and zippies for kids. I ventured into the pool each day but it was freezing, need to dive in and no thinking about it. We went to ichmeler market and the one in marmaris and you can pay in either lira, euros or sterling, seem to get a better price with sterling. Just make sure the notes are english. Our entertainment team were there but seemed to be winding things down as their season finishes at end of october. I seen two waterparks in marmaris and they were both open. Didnt go as our hotel had slides. Enjoy your holiday.

Hi pimplemousse,

I just got back from Marmaris last night and the weather was very nice 27deg., lots of people in the pools and the sea.
The exchange rate went up while we were there, it is better to use bars or restuarants to change your money they sometimes give you a better deal no commission hotels were giving 2.12ytl other places 2.49.
I would agree about the cardi's for nights some nights were warmer than others.
Have a nice time and take care.

Anna.

Thak you all for taking the time to reply. Great to hear the weather's still nice, sure the kids will venture into the pools, freezing or not!!

Any suggestions as to where we can go in the evenings, any places with entertainment or will they be shut by now?

Once again, thanks and much appreciated.

do the exchange overthere...you now get lots of TRY for you british pounds.

Near marmaris you have the datca area. A beautiful area with amazing views and nature.
Look here for more details http://www.hiddendatca.com

In mesudiye you can find nice beaches and depending on the weather you still can take a swim

have fun

Hi back from the Grand Azur and we all had a lovely time.

The weather was great, nice and hot but not too much so although the pools were cold, not that it stopped the kids from having a whale of a time in them though.

It was a really different kind of holiday from the previous two we've had in Turkey as this one was H/B and the others AI and FB plus. The latter two didn't really encourage us to get out much but we did lots this time and all really enjoyed a local turkish bath with the kids, horse riding in the mountains and through rivers, a lazy day cruise, day at the market, plenty of dolmus rides and a day at the all obligitory waterpark. We did miss the AI concept though as with 4 kids drinks, ice cream and lunches really mounted up.

The hotel was great and location very good and the food was excellent - I'll post a full review in the next few days.

Thanks all for your help on this topic and if anyone has any questions I'll be happy to help.
