im thinking of booking a guest house or small hotel in candolim also considering room only because i probably would not have breakfast , i like the lui beach does anyone know of any similar places

You could try JJ's Guest House in Candolim - on the main road, almost opposite Ruffles. Also take a look at Green Peace Holiday Homes http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/india/IN71.htm
These can be found down a side road at the back of JJ's.

I can thoroughly recommend Angela's guest house, opposite Kingfisher villa - I really should stop recommending it, they only have 7 apartments, I'll find I can't get in next year

I stayed at Greenpeace many years ago when a part of it was rented out by Lazydays, all I can say it was excellent, the room was on the top floor at the front, had two bedrooms a kitchen, living room bathroom and balcony. There was no swimming pool then. Lazydays had very good cleaners who came every day, they have gone more upmarket now http://lazydays.co.uk/.
