The only thing I can answer is about the waterpark. We've been to better however it was only hubby and I, i'm sure the kids would enjoy themselves. Be careful of where you book though, as we were told our pick up would be around 9.30. They did pick us up then, but only took us around the corner to a cafe where we were made to wait for an hour and a half for a big bus. It was lunchtime before we arrived

You will definitely get a surprise when you visit Gumbet after all those years! It has grown a lot since 1995 but it is stil not too big and in October it wont be too busy.

The bars along the beach are all suitable for children and as long as you are going fairly early then some of the fun pubs would be ok - Roxy's, Smilies, Leos, Aloha - but not when it gets late though.

Our children are 5 and 2 and we took them on a boat trip this year which they really enjoyed. The best place to book boat trips is from one of the little booths along the beach, they are normally smaller boats and better for children; not too many rowdy people wanting to party!

Other things your children may enjoy are a trip to Bodrum castle or horseriding, there are some good stables in Ortakent and they will pick you up from your hotel..

Thank's for the quick replies. I just can't wait to go back again. I can honestly say Gumbet was one of the best holidays we had, such good fun and the only place I'll ever have been more than once. We really loved it back in the day and I liked the fact that it was smaller than Bodrum.

I remember Heartbeat - is that still there? Took part in a little bit of karaoke in there, then the disco afterward

We certainly won't be clubbing this time though (unfortunately).

Is it expensive for drinks and if so, where are the reasonably priced bars?

Drinks are pretty reasonable as long as you are just having beer or local spirits, imports are very expensive so is wine. A lot of the bars have happy hours or special offers so just have a wander around and you will find lots of cheap places. te only places that are expensive are the club type bars in bar street, which I'm sure you wont be going into with children.
