We are due to fly out to the H10 Meloneras Palace Hotel in Gran Canaria in 3 weeks time (10th June 2006).
I am struggling to find any information - good or bad - about this hotel.
Could anyone please help me.
Kind Regards
Samantha
Hi sorry did not see this hotel but just come home from the same sort of area i can tell you the area is really really nice with lots of smart shops and restaurants and a few good bars its all quite low key but has a really nice smart atmosphere about it, they have just had the canaries fashion show held there last week with a massive stage built under the light house area with some off spains top models on show.
We stayed in Meloneras last year, Not at H10 but at hotel across the road.
I can tell you H10 is a good, big hotel almost touching the beach!
Depending which side you get put on, half the rooms must have a seaview and the other half facing into the street!
There is a taxi rank right outside hotel reception, which is handy because you need a taxi to get anywhere if your staying in meloneras!
You CAN of course walk along the promenade to Maspalomas, past the lighthouse and right along to the sand dunes if you want, it's a nice stroll.
However, to get to Playa del ingles, Faro 2 or Holiday world, you deffo need a taxi!
I believe, (through people we spoke to who visit every year) that H10 is/was a very good hotel, although they say standards have slipped a little, in recent years. (still quality though!)
H10 is two minutes walk down to the promenade which has a small(ish) beach and 6 or 7 nice restuarants.
We tried them all, and particuarly liked Casa Serafin.
There was a big shopping centre newly built there, right behind these restaurants, but it was'nt open when we were there as all the units were still empty, so I'll be interested to hear from any of you once you return how this is progressing!!!
They were also in the process of building a golf course at the side of the promenade/beach/shopping centre area when I was there last summer, so again I'd be very interested in an update on this from you on your return from holiday!
As usual on holiday watch out for the scratchcard people, who give you a winning ticket and try to get you in a taxi along to their place in Playa del ingles to pick up your prize , and of course buy a timeshare while your there!!!
It's a nice place Meloneras, quiet, not in the centre of all the hussle bussle like say Magaluf or Benidorm is, and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet there!
Have a good holiday!
Yes the shopping centre is finished and most shops open a few units left on the top floor but most open, nothing special shops wise to be honest but nice to have a look around after dinner, nice restaurant on the top floor facing the sea can't remember what it was called but really nice food.
