I'm not sure what sort of thing you like, but close by is Caernarfon Castle, and the Ffestiniog railway. You also have the delightful village & estate of Potmeirion where the tv programme "The Prisoner" was filmed. Also of course well known for its pottery.

We've been to Hafan y Mor a few times & have always enjoyed it, mostly everything you need is on the site.

Nearest proper supermarket is out of the camp, turn left heading into pwllheli, just as you get to the train station, there's a (somerfield - I think), it's about 5-10 minute drive.

As far as days out go, there'll be stacks of leaflets in reception depending on what your preferences are, one I'd suggest if you like beaches is blackrock sands, drive right onto a huge beach, kids can run riot, paddling, exploring the caves, flying kites etc, rough directions, head into porthmadog, turn right at woolworths (well, where woolies used to be I suppose now) & keep going until you end up on the beach.

There's also an Asda, 10 minutes away, in the other direction. Two supermarkets on site will deal with your essentials, plus hot bakery items.
