They do hair braiding in Magaluf. Not sure about the cost for half/full head. My daughter only ever gets one beaded plait put in and depending who you go to costs anywhere between 5 and 10 euros but lasts for months.

I think they do it in all resorts - just a word of caution tho' - my little girl had a single braid put in and her hair snapped off at the root. This years she'll be allowed a clip in one only!

Just another note of caution as tis states if it is too tight it can snap off at the root.

I remember seeing a report on holiday brading and henna tattoos (possibly holidays from hell on itv?) and the injuries to the scalp with regards to brading where horrific and in some cases, specialists where not even sure if the hair would ever grow back.

After saying that - there are lots of braiders in Magaluf.

On Henna tattoos some caused serious burn / blister like injuries & scarring.

We have never had problems with a single beaded braid being put in but this has been a compromise between myself and my daughter. She would love to get the corn rows put in but I won't let her as I know from other parents the damage it can cause. The hair can break, the scalp can get sunburnt, they are very uncomfortable if put in to tightly and can be very difficult to take out, the women who put them in are not always pleasant or friendly for that matter and can be rough with a little one who won't sit still because they are uncomfortable. There was an excellant thread about this in the Costa Dorada Forum, please read that before you make up your mind about your daughters hair.

My little girl (7) had it done last year in Palma Nova opposite McDonalds there is a long shopping arcade and you can make an appointment in the English hairdressers I think it is called the London. The lady that does it is not English but she is very good, my little one did winge a bit that it hurt but she still wants it done this year, the lady was very patient with her desapite the heat and everything I would recommend you go there. I think the ladies name was Nia?
