Just wondered if anyone had stayed here recently. I can't find any reviews.
Thanks
It's not one that I can recall.
Will do a search.
Done a search, Trip Advisor have got one review on, and Travel Republic have some on.
It's a hotel you don't notice because of the restaurant being in front. Sound OK, the usual Turkish style Hotel with Turkish food. So you should be OK.
Marn.
Saw it this year - if you go past the back of First Stop etc. and come out between the restaurant and hotel into the Mosque square it is that one. It looked ok when we passed.
Have read the review on Trip Advisor but just wondered if anyone else had stayed there. Was wondering especially how loud the noise is from the restaurants and the mosque.
Also looking at Meis Apartments but I think they were new this year so not expecting to find many reports on them.
Hope you are both well. Take care
Pat
Did you find them on Travel Republic?
Mike is well at the moment, but I have got a rotten cold . We are going on the cruise on the 20th.
Luv, Marn.
Have to say that was my thinking. It comes down to whether 'Sir' wants me to book H/B or is happy with B/B at Meis.
Travel Republic are best price for Meis but Freedom Direct are doing H/B at Halikarya for an extra £66. Still have time to think about it as 'Sir' doesn't like to book until after Christmas (No, I don't know why either when I have decided where we are going!!! :D)
Hope you get over your cold in time for your cruise....
Lots of love
Looking at the photos - have you any idea where the Meis apts. are?
I think they are the ones - I know that they were new this year and we passed them on our way up to Kufe. They looked very nice - lots of space and seemed quiet (just like me!!)
The price on Travel republic is good for apartments like that.
Wouldn't mind staying there myself. Plenty of room to 'get lost' in.
Hi
The Meis Appartments are where we are going next year, had a reckie this year.
They are actually on the first road back opposite the Blue Moon ,same side as the Red Dragon that was.
Look realy nice spacious and clean,a big improvement over the Kassandra LOL.
Our 4th year in a row 2008 so Bitez is second home for us.Tried Portugal this year as well ,won't be going back.
Thanks, Skids - they are not the ones I was thinking of then. Still worth a look.
Been looking for somewhere different in Turkey for summer next year and I have also read bits about the Meis Apartments and Bitez but am having problems finding any proper info or anyone to book thru (they don`t seem to have a website) have just tried Travel Republic and they are not shown.
Please can anyone help, Skids1 have you booked do you possibly have a e`mail or webiste address for them.
Many thanks any info much appreicated x
They were coming up on TR for May.
I`ll have another go, wonder if I`m looking in the wrong place.
Katiesmum, found Meis apartments on Travel Republic, Findmeaccom.com and Lastminute.com.
I must be looking in wrong place. Just off to work will have a look in morning. The apartments look really nice.
Got some prices thanks for the sites.
I e`mailed the accomodation and they quoted £32 per apt per night with £2 each for breakfast. Without breakfast £576 for 18 nights.
Travel Rep were £425.13 (its £7 a night which x 18 should be £378!! I`m confused do they add on tax or something)
It is quite a big difference, in the past when we have stayed in Turkey I have always done DIY and it has always been cheaper to book direct, they also benefit from all the ££`s. Have you come across this before? I`m a bit amazed as its so much more, would you get in touch and mention what you can book for with someone else to see if they can do the same price, surely it would be in their best interests. I`m a bit confused.
Also are there lots of restaurants and places to eat in Bitez we do like to try somewhere different most nights. What are the prices like? is it cheaper than Bodrum to eat and drink etc.
Thanks all for any advice/info.
There are more than enough places to eat and drink in Bitez. Good quality too. But you won't find £1 breakfasts like in Gumbet. It is a little more expensive than there.
We are certainly going back in May, hopefully staying at the Manuela. With maybe 5 days in Ortakent first, just to see what it is like there.
Marn.
katiesmum - I think with TR, the price at the end is the actual cost for however many nights, whereas the per night price is the price in whole pounds rounded down, if you see what I mean! So if they say '£6 per night', it is really say £6.54 or something.
D.I.Y. can be swings and round-abouts ..we have been going to Bitez for years and always booked direct when we used to stay at"The Manuela".
Last May we stayed at the" Kassandra "I rang them for prices and they were a lot more expensive than booking with T/Republic ...only cost us £30 each through them.
You need not worry about the restaurants you will be able to eat in a differant one each night!!! You will find the prices a bit more expensive on the front they are all yummy.. but I'm sure you will find a favourite place!!!
Also you get new ones opening each year. This year the best one for prices was "The Lavas". We also discovered an old restaurant that used to be in Bodrum that relocated to Gumbet. I can give you the phone number nearer the time if you want it. The food is sooooo cheap and the dessert was to die for!!! They pick you up for free and bring you back (you just text them)
Also we find the prices are pretty much the same as Bodrum.
Our first trip to Bitez next year is in May so I will be able to tell you about
new places. Friends of ours are looking at "Meis" they look very nice!!!
Just trying to get some flights know I know accomodation is there, but want 18-19 days and struggling a bit.
(was going to go to Mexico but its loads of ££££`s and I would spend 2 weeks enclosed inside an AI) and I need my driveway and patio doing.
Our very first holiday was to Turgetreis this was 15+ years ago, and it was wonderful so small and uncommercialised, we visited again about 7 years ago when we stayed in Torba and what a difference. Have also been to Turunc, Akyaka, Ovacik, Fethyie. From what I`e read Bitez seems to be on the same lines, smaller and less commercialised. I would rather do without a holiday if I ended up somewhere like Marmaris - again lovely 15 years ago its really scary now.
