Is it too much to ask that a family booking of - as FHW suggests - "a family of 4 be seated together" just because they are on the same booking?
Without wishing to be controversial, I think it is too much to expect in this age of allowing some passengers to pay to choose to sit togerther and even to choose specific seats.
What would you do if you were the only group who hadn't booked seats together and because of how the airline had allocated seats, your family were separated?
Would you expect any of those people who had chosen (and paid) to ensure they were together to be asked to move?
Of course, the scenario above is very unlikely to happen but I think the possibilty of being separated has to be considered when you make a concious decision NOT to pay to be seated toether.
We're travelling to Crete soon (fwh - be warned - I snore too! ) and will be getting to the airport early to try to ensure we get seats together (2 adults),
And no, I haven't paid extra but then again it won't be the end of the world if we are split up.
