Anybody flying to Larnaca or Paphos with Helios Airways maybe interested to know that they have just gone through a re-branding exercise and are now known as Ajet. see http://www.ajet.com
I had booked the flights for July from Luton to Larnaca through Opodo.com travel (who, to date were still convinced that the Helios brand exists). So, as it appears to be not that well known thought I'd share this snippit of info....
Apparently they have 'lost' the Helios brand because it was tarnished by the Athens crash last year and have decided to re-invent themselves as a low-cost charter carrier from a scheduled operator. Will be interesting to see how that effects the service.
So, when you arrive at the airport, look for Ajet not Helios and the flight numbers now all begin HCY instead of ZU. All tickets isued previously under the Helios name are valid (according to Ajet customer services)
the last i herd they still have to use the helios flight codes not seen any change in status in the cyprus press (i read it every day) it may be Libra group trying to change through the back door
wizard
edit.. i missed a one liner on friday they have been allowed to change the flying brand but as far as i can tel the trading company is still helios
the govenment would face too much flack if they allowed a full change till after the crash report comes out (all to do with compensation claims)
Ajet Cust Servs were adamant that I was now an Ajet customer....so I'll have to wait until 29th July to find out........
