Hi there
I searched Internet for a holiday as a gift for 2 adults and one infant. The site brought up various options and one was a great price. I tried to book but the lead person has to be the card holder so i popped into a Thomson shop and explained it was a gift for my mum for xmas. They were great and said they could price match web and i could book in store with all correspondence to be sent to me.
I went ahead and booked yesterday and picked up a brochure on my way out of the shop. I have just read in the brochure the accommodation is only for over 17's
I didn't search for any particular accommodation i put in the website 2 adults and one infant and they brought up various accom. Also in the travel agents they know that the booking if for 2 adults and a one yr old. Where do i stand ? It was by far the cheapest deal and i paid the full deposit including insurance yday and also received a £100.00 discount x
The first thing I would do would be to go back to the shop and ask them to sort it out.
As bridd suggests, your first port of call should be the travel agent's shop. However, it's quite possible that you don't have a problem here;it may well be that the property owner wishes to discourage children, who could be allowed to run unsupervised around the property, whilst having no objection to infants who are likely to be under constant supervision.Your travel agent should be able to clarify the position and, hopefully, put your mind at rest.
Hi, why not try & find out if the hotel has it's own website, it should say on there if the hotel is for adults only. Just a thought.
Hi what is the name of the hotel,is it in the Gold brochure
Check with the hotel and then find out if they would accept the infant. If not the get back to the TA shop who sold you the holiday. If they can they should be able to get you a hotel that will accept a child. Price wise I don't know what you could do. If the hotel has a no child policy I would say that the TA was wrong to book this and it is really their responsibility to know about the no children policy.
As mentioned, it's possibly a Thomson Gold hotel which means Thomsons don't take bookings in certain hotels for children and are for adults only, however that doesn't mean that the hotel doesn't accept children.
The seller of the holiday is the "expert" and as such should make sure you meet the requirements.
If you provided all the accurate answers to the questions posed you should not be penalised for their mistake.
Get them to amend the holiday as neccessary - and without any additional costs to you.
Mike
