Hi, Decided on on going to Cyprus next June, but not sure which resort to stay in, i thought I had decided on Limassol but heard the beaches aren't that great,so may be Ayia Napa ? I have a 13 yr old & 10yr old, we like it quite busy & plenty for the kids to do, & near a water park, also if anyone has any recommendations on nice hotels of 4* quality near the beach in either resort, that would be of a great help.
Thanks in advance
Kerry
Both hotels are near loads of restaurants and shops. There is a good bus service along the sea front to the town. The Fasouri waterpark is just outside the town, but there is a bus every morning. Nearby there is tenpin bowling, a cinema and lots of water activities.
It is the most central place to stay as you can get up to the mountains and visit Paphos easily.
Have you looked at Adams hotel on Nissi beach? Their pools look amazing. (In direct holidays book)
Good luck with your search, John.
Protaras would be ideal for you.All the bars and restaurants on one main street, regular bus service to Ayia Napa for the waterpark, good clean safe beach.Recommend Constantinos the Great right on the beach and kid friendly although it does get busy on week-ends,as do most of the hotels on the beach front.
The hotel I chose in Limassol was Hotel Atlantica Oasis, I know at the moment its under going refurbishment, but what about the location, is it central to everything & in walking distance of the main resort ???
if anyone has any comments on this hotel, that would really help !!

Our friends were looking for somewhere to go last year. They had picked Cyprus but were not sure where to go. I recommended Protaras and the Sunrise Beach Hotel. They booked up and cause I had recommended it to them I was worried that they would enjoy it. Well they did - one of their best holidays ever..phew. They were two families, mum dad and two kids per family and they all had a great time. They have kids and all of them had a great time.
Yes - Protaras, not far from the famous Agia Napa Water park. Limassol in my opinion is the seedy side of Cyprus ((taxi drivers offering to take me to some ladies - having to insist my wife was fine thanks).
Sweet x
Just to add that we met a couple with 2 kids a few years back in Pernera who had booked Limassol but hated it so much they demanded a move to somewhere more child friendly. They ended up at at a self catering complex across the road from us(can't remember the name but it really was basic) and they absolutely loved it.(if anyone has their brain working it was across the road from the Anastasia heading up the road away from the beach, almost across from the Ausonia Apts).
FWIW - Limassol vs East Coast is no contest...East Coast every time...I don't like Limassol any more. OK first time in '79...pants now
Okay, I think youv'e all convinced me that "protaras" is the place to go,all i need now is the hotel, I looked at the sunrise beach hotel, which looks ideal, only thing is, we want to go self-catering,& from what I can see sunrise doesn't offer SC . I have a very fussy son & we do like to go out & try different resturants, so if any one can recommend a self-catering 4* hotel near the beach & central location in protaras, that would be great !
The Rising Star isn't 4 star but is new and in a great position and very popular(just do a search here and you'll see). The Vangelis Apts I think might be 4 star but they are not on the beach but just a short walk across the road and in the centre of Protaras so no need to walk far to pubs and restaurants. If the Sunrise Beach is within your budget why not go B&B.There will be a fridge in the room to keep drinks cold,a sunbed allocation system so no need to put the towels out at 6 o'clock and a great beach 2 yards away.It might be worth finding out if there is a kids club if this is important to you.Constantinos the Great also do B&B I think, more family orientated but the Sunrise is a better hotel IMO.
stayed in the tssokkos gardens hotel all inclusive 2 years ago. very good hotel not sure if its a 4* tho. about 10min walk out of protaras.
Agree with comments above - If sunrise beach is in budget I'd go there B/B our friends loved it. If not then Rising Star (our choice for this year). Constantinos - I've read mixed reviews on these, so not sure. Have a look at whats available/takes your fancy and read up on the reviews. Have fun choosing
Sunrise Beach is across road from Vangelis right on best bit of beach. Have heard it's very good. Just depends on your budget and what you're looking for. There are lots of great restaurants on your doorstep too. We have taken our daughters there since they were toddlers a span of 16 years and they still love it! Great for all ages and super for families.
