I think you will be hard pressed to beat the Stalis deal.
You are at the mercy of the "half term" holidays, and no doubt holidays are unfairly loaded.
The weather should be no problem at all, and although it will be the last week or so in the season, it wil be busy because of "half term"
Don't wait too long, or you might have to take anything.

Very best of luck,

Robby

Personally I'd go to Costa Teguise just for the weather. I think you may get a few wet days in Crete towards the end of the season.
I went to Costa Teguise in January a few years ago and had agreat time. Everything is still open as it's an all year round destination. Plenty of good restaurants and I, think the places you have named have activities for children. The only down side is you will find Lanzarote more expensive than Crete. Whatever you would spend in Crete add about an extra £100 to it.
Lanzarote is lovely though, can be a bit touristy on the main drags(like everywhere).

I am going to throw a spanner in the works!!

Have you thought about the Algarve. Fantastic beaches, great food and a short flight! Also there are some water parks for your little boy whould you wish. Because the Algarve is a year round resort everything will be open. It will also be comfortably warm.

For some excellent apartments the Colina Village in Carvoeiro are worth a look - First Choice have them but their package is rather expensive. You can book the apartments on the Holiday Hotels/Med Hotels web site at a very reasonable rate. Flights might be a tad expensive then though.

My inlaws went to Crete a few years ago now in October.......... it rained most of the time they were there, and even had a real bad Thunderstorm.....! :? Could have just been "bad luck/timing" on their part though

What about Fuerteventura? It's nice there, and the beaches are fantastic. I've stayed in both Corralejo and Costa Calma both family friendly and safe. Jandia in the south has the better beaches by far.

Have been twice in the Oct half term to Costa Teguise and always had fab weather. Can sometimes get a little windy on the beach, but the breeze is refreshing. We go self catering and have always found nice kid friendly restaurants. If you decide to go here I don't think you'll be disappointed.

As others have said, Crete could be a bit dodgy weatherwise in October. We went to Zakynthos a few years ago in October and only got 2 really good days in a week, and quite a bit of rain, which isn`t good with a small child. I`d be more inclined to go for one of the Canaries.
