Don't forget that I will be travelling to Vegas 25th November for 10 nights so please keep an eye out for me for offers on strip hotels.
Caesars Palace, bellagio, Venetian, Wynne and even Aladdin or Ballys are ok.
may try a few nights downtown over the weekend to keep costs down and also to show the wife what its like

I haven't forgotten John. We also go in November, but on the 1st. Won't start looking for offers until 8-10 weeks before we go then I'll start monitoring Fat Wallet again.
Have you signed up with the Venetian? I get regular emails from them and managed to save my brother and his wife $150 on 3 nights there by them using the offer I got against booking it on their site.

Signed up with the all Luci
Just waiting now for the offers.
That Caesars one we had last year was a great deal and though we could have stayed a lot cheaper elsewhere it broke down to about £60 per night for the room and the way I look at it is I would have paid that or more for a travel lodge in the UK.

The cheapest I've seen Caesars since has been $180 and the Venetian at $149. Remember to check http://www.travelzoo.com the US site, not the UK one.

Going to Vegas in July any one been to Excalibur Hotel Casino Thanks
we are going to the excalibur in november is the pool open i looked at 360 but it doesnt say if its open in november also is the tap water safe to drink
Most pools close from November till April, but they may be open if it is unseasonably warm, although it won't really be warm enough to swim. The pool at the Imperial Palace has always been open when we've been there early and mid November.
You can drink the water, but it is recommended that you drink bottled water which you can buy at Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy on the strip near the Monte Carlo or from your hotel shop. We bought bottled water at the ABC Store in the Miracle Mile, 99c for a litre.

many thanks its the same in spain you can drink the water but its best to buy bottled
...recommended by who? US tap water is as safe as the UK...
Is it possibly due to the tap water in the US having a different mineral content to that in the UK? I know that's the issue with water in spain

That's possible but it wouldn't make it unsafe in any way. There are some EU regulations that make a few drinks illegal in Europe but legal in the US. I believe Dansaii water (or whatever it's called, the one from Coca Cola) was outlawed in the UK because it contained a level of an ingredient/mineral that was perfectly legal in the US but not in the UK. It doesn't make one or the other right or wrong, I suppose... it's just interesting the way one country is different to another.
We aren't told Spanish drinking water is unsafe, just that it's highly likely to give us ('us' being tourists) an upset stomach.
I know but I thought we were talking about US drinking water.
I didn't say it wasn't safe to drink the water, in fact I said you could drink it. The reason I said it was recommended to buy bottled water is because I frequently visit US sites for Las Vegas and the "locals", ie US citizens are always on about buying bottled water so I thought that was the norm.
I think it is always best to drink bottled water away from home, not because it's unsafe, purely because the different mineral content can cause stomach upsets in some people.

Yes I know we're discussing US drinking water. I was trying to explain in response to your post...
Nobody is saying it's unsafe, just that it may be better to drink bottled water if you're not used to US tap water.
