Oh, what a shame you didn't get it at that price - I bet you wish you had! Still, you did really well to get the bargain you did.
Now, I'm wondering whether I should leave the flights until January to see if I can get a cheaper direct flight, although my hubby has told me to book those at £389.
I've already signed up to loads of hotels for their offers, as well as some of the voucher codes sites. I had a look on Traveaxe but their calendar only goes up to 2008 so I'll keep checking it.
Well we are hoping to return 30 April - 12 May and I am intending waiting until bmi has their January sale before booking as it has always been cheaper the last 2-3 years I've been checking it.
Last year I couldn't wait any longer and booked in November only to find it about £50 cheaper in January.
If you have time check out FAT WALLET. That link takes you to the last page where the latest deals are posted, but Page 1 should have been updated with the current offers.
You can check back and see what rates were on offer for April this year to give you and idea what to expect.

£389 is a good price these days. If you book direct with a US airline you MAY be able to change if the price drops. It does seem to be a common thing for American sites. Having said that, it has never cropped up for us, so I really don't know the details. (And it may involve credit rather than a cash back.)
Luci told me that there was a sale on this year and I looked straight away and found direct seats for £300 but on Luci's advice opted for the premium economy at £500 each as she said that was a brilliant price.
What a statement that was from her as a few weeks later they went up to £2,000 each
Don't forget to shout me when they start again Luci

I shal certainly try and remember to post next time there is a sale. I have to admit bmi's Sale really is a sale as I monitor their prices a lot and they are definitely cheper when they have a sale on.
Glad you were able to benefit from it both Pebbles and John. Unfortunately I missed out that time as I had already booked my May flights in November (couldn't wait
) and we're not going in November as usually due to other commitments.

Well, the deed is done - I've booked!:clap When hubby came home from work yesterday and I told him that I was going to wait until January to see if the prices came down, he told me not to, to just get it booked so that it was over and done with. To be honest, I think I was driving him mad with all my dithering and "should I or shouldn't I?" Also, I think he prefers the thought of flights with a change of planes rather than direct flights even though it means longer journey times. At least, if the prices do come down, I can blame him for telling me to book it now.
Thanks to you all for your help, I'm sure there will be many more questions from me in the following few months.

Oh brilliant! Yes I've done that in the past, couldn't wait any longer and just booked it. I've never really regretted it even though we did pay through the nose for one set of flights.
As much as I have it planned to go in May next year, I won't really be going until those flights are booked.
Now, where are you thinking of staying and what dates have you booked? Lots of info to help you decide in the links I provided in previous posts.

We've booked for 28th April to 5th May so hopefully the weather will be nice but not too hot. It seems such a long time to wait but we've a couple of weekend breaks arranged and there's Christmas too so I hope it won't drag too much.
As for hotels, I've no idea yet - probably one of the cheapest but at the moment Imperial Palace or Orleans look good possibilities. We'll just have to wait and see what all those great offers I've signed up for turn up.

Don't rely on getting offers by email as they can be few and far between. I only get offers from a few hotels despite having been there 8 times as staying at quite a few hotels. We also have Player's Club cards for all the hotels we are interested in.
Venetian are very good at sending offers and either Orleans or Gold Coast.
Your best bet is to monitor Fat Wallet from 3 months out.

Yes, I'll keep an eye on Fat Wallet, I've already added it to my bookmarks along with other Vegas sites I've seen on here. I've lots of sites to keep me busy throughout the winter months now.
