it'll fairly quiet at the end of March so you could find some really good deals on hotels, guest houses etc, worth spending a bit of time looking or asking in the bars. Depends what you want to spend your money on with your 500 quid budget for the 2 weeks, personally i'd need a bit more but i eat out every nite and go on a few trips, if your careful you should manage

food is great! dont think i hever had a bad meal! i dont eat seafood but i did eat chicken curries and veg curries!

they are not like at indian restaurants at home, i think hte food out htere is better! The curries dont tend to be hot unless you ask for them to be!

you can eat out and drink really cheap! a curry and rice is about £2! and beer, like mentioned by irishcoleen is around 40rps, or a big 650ml bottle is about 70rps when out in a bar!

:) Hi Bossman, why dont you try to get a room or an apartment at the Lucia Beach Guest house, they dont have a swimming pool but you can use the one at the Lui Beach hotel which is right next door and it will be a lot cheaper than £40 a night and that will mean your £ 500 will go alot further. Try the link for more information

I know a small minority (actually one person!!) slag this hotel off but why not try the Prazeres in Candolim. Decent rooms, pool and bar and lovely staff. Cost is about £13 per room per night. We have been 5 times and after this year's experience at Victor Exotica wouldnt want to stay anywhere else.

Hi - why don't you try Mantheven Homes. We've stayed there three times and its great, just off Holiday Street. Max and Jess are the owners and run large self-catering apartments with nice sit-out area's.
Again, like Lucia they don't have a pool but next door is Little Italy restuarant who have just built a pool (even though its a restaurant!) which costs 50 rps a day to use or 3 minutes walk round the corner is Ondas de Mar which is offering free use of its pool if you buy a beer (big sign outside advertisng and our friends went the other day and said it was good). You'd have to check with Max and Jess availability etc but price should be around a tenner a night for the room plus all cleaning, electricity etc so should give you loads more spending money!!!
Theres a web address http://www.manthevenhomes.com although it doens't show the new upstairs apartments and pics/reviews are available on tripadvisor.

Great information guys been really helpful. Any good watersports to do there?? And i hear people mentioning go-karting sounds right up my street, hopefully not expensive.

Looking forward to decent night life as well, is there a holligan element about the nightlife as that would be too close to home.
