Hilton Rangali Resort Maldives, Taking Food & Booze with

HUbby and I love the look of this island and are planning a trip for maybe Feb 2007. Ive read that if you buy duty free at the airport on the way over youre not allowed to take it into the resort, they keep it for you.

However without sounding like a total cheapo....is it possible to take food (snacks) and maybe booze onto the island if you 'hide' it in your suitcase

I wouldnt normally try this but the resturants are soooo expensive we thought we could maybe save a few pennies by havig a drink in the room before we go out of an evening.

Any help or comments regards to this reort would be fab!!

Don't even think about it. All your luggage is xrayed on arrival and they are looking for booze amongst other things, Anything remotely suspicious and you will have to open your case. They will return your booze on departure.

Thanks for the quick reply, i have also just done a quick search and read about smuggling etc so i wont bother with the booze thing but it sounds as though my haribo and pringles are safe
