are you allowed to take food to Gran Canaria. I usually take tea, coffee, cereal but this year am thinking about butte and bacon as its so pricey on the Island.

Not a problem.We normally take sliced ham,chicken etc in a cool bag.I know someone who works with my wife who took mince with her as her husband could not go a week without it.You will have no problems what so ever.
