I agree the hilton web site is never clear . Not only regarding children but on the board basis. the HSB is all inclusive as is the coral in nuweiba but nowhere does it say that when booking.
you can get some idea from clicking on hotel details and then selecting "hotel policies" down the left hand side but problem is that quite often the hilton booking is running a different policy than the hotel As far as i know its children up to 12.but when i booked last year I rang the reservation number to double check re the board basis and she priced it saying it was child prices up to 16 but it didnt make a lot of difference as i needed the 2 rooms . a couple of weeks later hilton web site were saying children under 16 could have their own room for half the adult price but i had already booked at what I think was a very good deal for 2 rooms for 5 of us (115 dollars PER ROOM around £61 for easter) . The hilton system would not let me put in my FREE under 12 child so I emailed sharks bay and they added him to my booking at no cost but I was told I would have to pay $25 per night for his A/I. originally SB quoted me much more direct than the hilton web . when i questioned this their reply was a confused one at the deal I could get on the web and said I would be better to take that offer . At the end of the day am right in thinking these hilton hotels in Egypt are run as a franchaise and that is where all the confusion arises.
oh dear Ive babbled and probably now confused you more.
Deluxe rooms and junior suites can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under 12.
Children share a sofa bed. (Normal child supplements apply)
Baby cots and baby chairs are available upon request.
Which may indicate they think children are under 12, but may also just mean that the sofabed is only big enough for 2 small people!

hi ,
have just booked the hilton shark's bay in sharm el sheik for a week from 6th april.
never been before to egypt, anyone been to this hotel? would be grateful for any info.
thanks,
Eifion.
We are heading off to sharm again on the 10th april but couldnt get a decent deal for HSB . We are staying at the sonesta beach resort this time . Prices are horrendous to book now for Easter . You must either be paying a fortune or have been a lucky boy .
Was there last November and going back in June- what sort of info are you looking for eifion? Happy to help if I can!
In case you haven't seen them, we also have lots of reviews of this hotel:
lynwestie,
your right it is an absolute fortune nearly as much as 2 weeks in dom rep next august..
never mind o.h. deserves to be spoilt and cheered up, had a hard time in last year with 1 thing and another.
Eifion.
Ah then she deserves it Eif
had firsthand account of the hotel from our newspaper rep that visited me on thursday, he's been there twice in the last 15 months.
it sounds fab and i'm really looking forward, particularly as its my birthday and my o.h. has been e mailing the resort and there seems to be a surprise cake shinanigans in the rstaurant that evening for me......... 49 i dont do cakes n candles....
never mind i'll act surprised as i shouldnt have seen the message.... .
thanks again.
Eifion.
Aww bless OH. I know what you mean as I don't do cake and candles either but it's a lovely thought. Enjoy your birthday
Already had flights booked for next easter weekend (2010) 4th april and just booked 2 rooms (5 adults) for £1049 A/I direct with http://www.hilton.co.uk. I know that price will go up , it does every year once they work out it's school holidays and easter . so that works out at £30 each per day A./I . i've had to pay a 30% non refundable deposit to get that early saver rate but I'm happy with that.
So in total with my easter Weekend flights Im paying £2719 which i'm confident is a good price for 5 adults on that date in the hotel we want . I cant get anywhere near that with a package for next easter unless I book somewhere I dont want to stay in .
The rate is now fixed in dollars (USD 1470) and the £1049 is worked out at todays exchange rate . As it isnt brilliant at the moment i'm also hoping it will improve by next easter and we will pay less but then again it could get worse. No i'm going to stay confident

If April 09 is anything to go by, you have got yourself a right bargain.
I'm sure about 4 weeks ago I priced up for 2 rooms at HSB with Thomas Cook for a week and it was over 3K and that was for 4 peeps not 5. Well Done.
Its still a lot Chris I know . Its slightly less than Ive paid this year for the Sonesta but next year I wont get a child price for my youngest , plus we all know how bad prices have got since I booked the sonesta this time last year . Just hoping to shave some more off if the dollar rate improves before next year.
Only a week and a half for us to go before we're at the Hilton, can't wait.
Can i just take the opportunity to thank you so much for all your help in my numerous PM's...your a star
Your very welcome Pauline . I just hope you like it .
Well done on getting a good deal Lyn - you are really on the ball for next year!
