Thanks thats very good 24 years!, and yes i'm already thinking of those extra holidays , and the money I have saved over the last few weeks has been put towards my holiday for next year, the only thing i'm worried about is starting again when on holiday as thats what happened last time i quit for 8 months and started once I got off the plane , never mind I will have to be more strong minded this time
Shoes, clothes and fags cheaper in spain, used to be wine, but not now, as they have to go in your case... bummer to heavy....
Pargaluvva, I have one of those corks with the coins in, it was given to me when I was born and it has an old sixpence in, it was given to me by my godfather and one day the coin fell out - it was a day or two after he died that it happened . I gave one each to my daughters when they were born too, with a new coin made the year they were born. I didn't really know what the significance of them was thouugh till I just read the BBC link.

I usually bring back fridge magnets and key rings and I've also got some pictures which I've had framed. I also like to pick up jewellery and some of the local booze which I can't get in the UK. I've got a nice coin purse and small turquoise leather wallet from Tunisia. I avoid anything saying "A present from ...." like the plague, as I do stuffed camels.
Everyone who went on holiday where I worked used to bring a fridge magnet back , it made the dull kitchen at work feel nice and cheery. The service was re-structured and some people got relocated and some left, so we took one fridge magnet each to remind us of each other. On my holiday this year, I still found myself looking at fridge magnets, felt a bit sad really.
My partner collects " snow shakers" from wherever we holiday. They are collecting dust in the bedroom, but they entertain my grandaughter (20months) and they are a lovely reminder of the holidays we have had together.

We always buy a ceramic plate back - not a garish one with bullfights or whatever - I mean a nice colourful modern one...........we have them up on the kitchen wall and they are brilliant reminders of each holiday we had.......they look ace too!
