Have a look at http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/cheap-flights/india/goa/ just put in your dates and you will get a list of today's cheapest agents and airline.
Kingfisher and Jet are regarded as two of the best airlines but you have to fly via Mumbai or Bangalore so watch the connection times as the flights are picked by price and not convenience also it is a lot easier with the transfer from international airport to the domestic terminal if you have the same airline right to Goa
You can draw you money from an ATM machine if you have a card for your Barclays account or if you can have your Pension paid into a Nationwide flex account it is cheaper to draw with their ATM card

From this winter - Nationwide will charge for withdrawals on ATMs in non EC countries.
I understand it is still cheaper than useing a normal Visa card and if you use their Cash Card Account there is no charge for withdrawing money abroad but it is not a credit card to use in shops

Nationwide themselves are not charging at all!
The fee that IS being charged is exactly what Visa charge them for the card facility. Up to now Nationwide have absorbed this as a service to their customers, but with the current economic climate it was considered unfair to their customers who never use the facility to subsidise those who do.
AS Meagain said, they are still the cheapest, and what would you suggest as an alternative, expensive travellers cheques or vulnerable cash?
Nationwide still comes out as one of the best in moneysavingexpert.
