The site is very child friendly, the swimming pools are supposedly heated, but not very warm. However, one of the pools has a retractable roof so can still be used in wet weather. The restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced, although the takeaway is only open at weekends in low season.
The family bar is upstairs over the shower block, and has pool tables, bar football and music videos projected on to the end wall. You can look out of the window onto the childrens playground outside, where the children can play until it gets dark.
The showers are clean, hot water is plentiful 24 hrs a day, and there are family shower rooms. There is a washing up area, and laundry area inc dryers.
Aqualud at Le Touquet is well worth a visit, as is the bird museum at the mouth of the somme. The village is around 2 miles away and is very quaint. There is a market on sunday morning, and I strongly urge you to go, it is vastly different to anything in the uk. The supermarket is small but well stocked but beware of opening hours, inc closing for lunch.
Our children range between 3 and 13, and all love going there- in fact, if we weren't off to Florida next year we would be back again!!
We've stayed in many campistes in France and although this site is ok there are better. Main grumbles is that the pool, play area, bar, restaurants are not quite integrated and more like seperate entitities seperated by walkways. We prefer sites where the restaurants, pools etc are all together, and the pitches are less regimental. Have a look at some of the sites a bit further such as Pont L'Eveque and Houlgate.
I would agree with the comment to try Houlgate. We went there 4 years ago and are doing an overnight there this year. It's less than an hour from the port at Caen and the area offers so much to see and do.
