sorry I dont want to be a pain but what will i need lira for and what will i need sterling for.
1. taxis lira but what about local shops and restaurants , first choice clubs and bingo and kiddies stuff , and the airport. could anyone make a list of what i would need lira for and then ill take the rest in sterling thanks.
It is easier to pay taxis in lira and if you got to any local markets, but apart from that you can pay in sterling, so it depends on what you are going to be doing. We did the mud baths trip with Sarigerm tours and it cost £15 adults, £7.50 kids and under5's free. Well worth every penny, they are excellant and you don't do any boring de-tours first ie: carpet factories ect. Their prices are wrote in English £ put you can pay in either. We also booked a Turkish bath trip with them, that was also great and only £10 for 2 1/2 hours.

im really concerned about mozzies out there should i be? also with regards to the room im also concerned as they are saying i have to check out 12 pm (i will try and book late check out when there.)but dont fly until 6am following morning will i still get all inclusive for this day as they cant just leave us in a resort for 20 hours with no room and no all inclusive can they? if this is the case we would only have 13 nights accomodation and 13 days all inclusive not 14 has anyone else had bad night flights and had this problem. a family resort and they do this. please help and tell me this is not the case.
Hello I'm going on 29th Sept can anyone tell me if one side is better than the other and which is best to ask for?
I'm sure you'll be able to book late check out. Your all inc will not finish until you leave. just make sure you leave your wrist band on. You should be ok if you spray your mozzie stuff through day aswell as thats when I got bit. There is no probs of mozzies in room as your patio door as a mozzie guard on and they spray the rooms weekly. Unfortunately most flights to Turkey are bad times. Do you leave at 6am or fly at 6am as if you are not leaving hotel till 6am you should still have your room for that night.
fly at 5.45 am i know its a bugger. we fly out at 22.55 and wont arrive until about 6 to holiday village but as we check in the evening before they class that as the first night of your accomodation although we wont actually be there. work that out so a fourteen night holiday is 13 nights with a room and one night on the plane . its ridiculous. ill be at reception booking asap lol. also what is the system with booking meals in the different restaurants and as before is there anyside to request which is beter for pools and food etc.
We were on blue (pegasus side) which I did prefer as the pool snack bar was alot bigger as is the main pool, but if you are in Jacuzzi suites it doesn't really matter as you will be in middle of complex anyway. You can use either side through day so it goes on personl preference. What room have you got?
You could book alacarte outside main buffet restaurant between 8am - 11am. There are menus up as you have to decided what you want for main course whilst you book, which is a bit of a pain as you don't really know what you going to fancy at breakfast time, but if you book Turkish restaurant, which we thought was the best you should try Lamb shank, it was really nice!!
Its a shame they wont let you check in later and then you could have your room till you leave.
Don't forget to book any trips with Sarigerme tours, they are fantastic and price is even better
Jo
Also anyone who has been recently - is meal times really busy? any best times to get a table etc - can you eat outside?
Thanks
There is an outside area to buffet restaurant. There is also an outside terrace upstairs for adults only which is open till 9pm.
Jo
As for times to eat, the upstairs terrace opened at 7 and we tended to get there for around that time so we could get a table large enough to accommodate the 9 of us! It was never overcrowded or long queues
Going in about 3 weeks - cant wait! Booked son in for soccer school - does anyone know if they insist on children wearing shin pads?
Thanks
hi im there the same time as you well we overlap i go in two weeks . when my son did soccer school in the costa del sol they didnt need shin pads. advise take a sports drink bottle(large ) and fill it up for him hell need it and a baseball cap and thats all you need . not sure how it works in turkey but we booked his time as soon as we got there as the early slots go first and you dont want to be left with miday with the heat. hearing its about 45 degrees
Thanks for that jenkins4 - i have already booked it but assume when you get there you have to book the time slots - you are right dont want midday!!
hi can anyone tell me if i should book the other restaurants as soon as i get there and is this done at reception or at the restaurant. also are you allowed one per week eack or is it just one for the fortnight to each. in costa del sol we were allowed two to the italian and two to the mexican one per week each if that makes sense!
It's one visit to each restaurant per stay so if you are there for a week or a fortnight it's still only one visit to each. You have to book them in the morning at the PR desk next to reception and you can book up to a few days ahead I believe. They only do so many sittings per night so once they have been booked they tell you it's full, even though the restaurant will be half empty while you are there. If kids don't like the menu they are free to just wander out to the normal buffet to pick something else.
We are going at the end of September, is the blue side best or the orange, in your opinion?
Cheers!
I'm not sure which side is blue and orange as the two times I've been there the different sides have been known as Pegasus Palace and Pegasus Tropical. Both times we have been we were in Palace side as there are no rooms that sleep 5 on the tropical side. We prefered the side we were on although we walked over to the tropical side a few times to use the flumes in their pool (different to ones on palace side). Last year the tropical side was mixed nationalities and this was noticible in the entertainment going on over there - lots of enthusiastic germans doing aquarobics!!! Also last year you were not supposed to migrate across the border but no-one stopped us. This year it's all one resort again I believe so whichever side your room is on you can freely use all the facilities on both sides.
Pegasus palace is blue side and tropical palace is orange side. We stayed on blue side, but apart from buffet restaurant you can use any. Kids dens and interconnecting rooms are on blue side. The rooms on blue side have sliding door which seperates bedroom from lounge area. The rooms on orange (tropical side ) are open plan so are not as private.
I've stayed on both sides, I definitely preferred the Palace side as the atmosphere just seemed to be better. Can't really explain it other than that!
We preferred Palace side too. It seemed more spacious especially around the pool areas as in the tropical side the main hotel rooms all overlook the pool and it just seemed a bit claustrophobic when you were sitting in the pool area.
