Hello everyone,
We have been reading for a while but are new to posting.
Our children have lots of questions regarding the kids club at HV and were wondering if any of you had kids club age children who wouldnt mind answering, through their adults, a few worries ours have?
Our daughter is 8 and our son 7, they would like to know....
Are the kids clubs babyish?
Are they old enough for the high ropes? and how much does it cost?
What happens if they dont like it,and want to come and find us, Do they have to wait til end of the session or will they phone mum/dad?
Are the grown ups in the clubs english?
Are the age groups set in stone or mixed up during quieter times, in other words will my 8 going on 16yr old have to play with little children?
We would like to know if anybody has used the football or lifesaving courses for kids? do you think they are worth the money?
Thanks everyone, we go on 22nd june and are over exited already
jen and mark
We went to HV last May and are going back this May as we loved it.
Regarding your questions, my 2 children did find the kids clubs quite babyish and boring my daughter was 9 and my son was almost 8. I think the older club wasn't too bad but the younger one ended up with my son being in with 4year olds. They weren't keen to go so they spent a lot of time just on the beach and swimming pool. Things may of changed since I last went.
I'm hoping that my son can go in the older club this time around as he will 2 weeks short of being 9.
I think they are quite restricted in what they do with the kids probably to do with health & safety.
The adults in the clubs are english and they ask were you will be whilst the kids are in clubs so I guess they may come and find you.
They are old enough for the high ropes not sure how much it cost, have an idea it was £7.
Hope this helps.
We go on 25th June this year and also very excited already.
My daughter will be 10 so she will go in the Wavelength club and she is hoping that will be good. First choice are often strict with age in the various clubs we've been to before probably due to insurance restrictions. Best just to see if you can wangle it when you get there.:sulk
See you there for drinks.
Sarah, Dave & Chloe
Sarah Dave and chloe, definatly lots of drinks, we'll be the ones with the moany kids because they cant get into wavelength ha ha. Our children are total water babies so i dont see any problems really.
Ive seen the map of the hotel in the brochure, does anybody know which blocks on the picture are the family (kids den) rooms?
Jay Trip a few posts back say block 6 has 2, but dont know what block is what on the pic. Night time noise etc doesn't bother us but id love a good view of the sea, its lovely to look at when you first wake up and there are no people about, i can just picture it now......i want to go now, 60 days and counting!!!!
There must be other blocks with kids dens in them though apart from the one Jean mentioned, as there are a lot of families of 4 there with under 12's and I would imagine most would be in the dens.
You are so lucky going soon, I've been back over a week and still keep thinking about it there. I'm sure you will have a great time.

Block 6 has 2 kids dens on the first floor .Numbers 6202 and 6203.They may also have kids dens on the ground floor but I wouldnt recommend them as the patio is open to the gardens and children can wander off.
On the map this is the small block next door to the Al-a-carte restaurants and the shallow end of the main pool.
There is a lovely view overlooking the pool and the sea.
There was noise from the disco on the beach at the hotel next door but once you close your door its not noticeable.
Block 10 also have kids dens but these are dark and gloomy in comparison as they have no windows, whereas block 6 had a window high up in the wall adjoining the main bedroom.
we were at the hv last august and we had room 6202, which was a great kids den room with a lovely view in the morning. it was a little close to the al-a- carte restaurants but this was never a problem, only had to close the curtains a little in the evening when getting dressed to save my embarressment.
happy hols

Off to HV in morning ......is there a hairdryer in the swim up rooms please?
Not 100 % certain. But they are definately in the standard rooms so would imagine they are in all rooms.
OOOOhhhhh dunno wether to take my own now????? May just risk it and not bother. Cant believe how qauick its come round, i did book it a year ago.
Block 5 has kids dens and is very central for everything.
can't wait going clothe shopping saturday !!!!!!!!!
Kids all sorted, Hubby says he is but it's my turn.
will I need a cardi or jacket for the evenings, send of may time
Shouldnt think so twinton. We went end of may and never needed any cardis the temp in the evening was pleasantly warm we only wore vest tops out.
I dont think you will need a cardi in May. We didnt really need one at the begining of April.
I booked a late checkout on our holiday. It does not show that on my statement although FC confirmed this by phone. I noticed that all little extras, that used to show on your invoice eg, pre booked seats does not show either. Just don't want to get there and lose our LCO because I have no confirmation of it being booked. Has anybody else had a problem with this?
Also does it cost to upgrade to a kids den through the hotel?
I was at Coral sea last year and it was a right trek to our rooms. So I would like to request a ground room round the pools if possible this time around. Or maybe a swim up room Does that cost to upgrade at the hotel? Plus do they allocate them to chilren aged 9 and 10, as FC state they are over for over 12's only, but sure I have read somewhere in this thread that it doesn't matter.
Thanks for any advice
I cant give specific advice on rooms numbers for you as we were in one of the two three floor blocks at the back of the hotel neaf the heated pool etc. But I would say it might be better to email ramy before you go with room requests.
When we were checking in it seemed to me like a lot of the rooms had been pre allocated, as they just looked at some paperwork and handed over the keys and it might be a bit of a palava to get upgraded on check in if you go at a busy time. It was a bit chaotic but they seemed well organised.
If its a quiet time (if this hotel ever has them) it may be easier.
There was a full coach load when we arrived to check in and on the day we left there were six coach loads. This was a thursday which is of course the worst day for Sharm as its the most flights. If you are a Monday might be easier.

We were in block 10 I think we overlooked the quiet pool and although we had a few minutes walk to the main pool and beach we found our room very handy once the little ones had gone to bed it was a few yards from the sports bar and hubi kept popping out for drinks to bring to the room while we watched a film
what about kids clubs? didd you book them before you got there? anyone use the evening club? would you say it was anygood for 6 year olds?
18sleeps !!!!
The kids clubs where really good although my 7 year old didnt go in everyday
