Stix, we came back from the HV on the 5th September, and also e-mailed ramy morris before we went regarding room selection. We never received a reply but know they received the e-mail as it was mentioned by a guy on reception. We had requested a room in block 4 or 5 but on arrival they gave us block 6. Definately no complaints at all. The room was massive and had a view of the pool and beach. Would recommend this block to anyone.
Joanyy, i seem to remember most of the low numbers (blocks) had pool and sea views. We are looking to get back to Block 3, it was ideal.
We due to go this sunday, have now seen reports that there is now free wifi in reception anyone know if this is true?
Also can you remember how much kids swim lessons were? which blocks were best, someone mentioned that block 11 was good for standard rooms and a little quieter can anyone tell me if this is true?

Block 11 has swim-up rooms on the ground floor, not sure what's upstairs. It overlooks the quiet pool, so is in a more peaceful part of the resort. We had a standard family room in Block 10 - excellent location, also right by the quiet pool and this block is connected to the main building where the restaurant, shops, main bar and reception are all situated.

Does any one know which blocks the standard rooms are in. We went to the holiday village last and had a kids den which was in block 6. My mother in law is going with us this year and she is not very mobile i wish to know if there are standard rooms between the buffet restaurant and the large pool.
A previous poster has said there are standard rooms in block 5 (the one with the zip-wire tower) and they're also in blocks 10 and 14 (avoid 14, it's right at the top and a bit of a trek from anywhere).

We were in block 14 2yrs ago , it wasn't too bad it is on the perimeter but it's hardly a long trek (unless you have mobility/health issues) but last year we were in block 10 which was great , we're off again in 29days (not that i'm counting) ,hopefully we'll be in block 10 or better
hi, i have booked with first choice staying in a double 3 pool view room, does anyone know if this is a swim up room before i email the hotel to upgrade?

As far as I'm aware the swim-up rooms are specifically marketed as such, so I doubt you've got one unless you asked for it. Best bet is to contact the hotel.

The swim up rooms are marked as pool view by first choice, so yes you have a swim up room.

Chocman, I can confirm that first choice market the swim up rooms as pool view, as I have booked these rooms both times I have travelled to the hv red sea in the last two years. First choice are awkward aren't they

i e mailed the hotel, but they say I have to book thru First Choice
First choice wont allow me to book accomodation only for holiday village, I have to book the flights too
Ive noticed on some of the reviews for holiday village, that some people havent used first choice for their booking
Can anyone help as to how I might be able to book the accomodation independantly ?

There are a couple of places that you can book away from First Choice but they seem to be package holidays only and do appear to all ulitimately go through First Choice for final booking. Hays Travel seem to offer it and we found it on online with Holiday Hypermarket last year.
