Daz, If you need to resort to it threaten legal action you know it might help but dont pay anymore they should pay you!!!!!!!!! I just hope we have made the right choice.

Hi All

Just received letter from FC saying the relaxation pool will be closed during our stay (28/0608-12/0708) and some essential maintenance work will be taking place, i feel when you are paying that much for a dream holiday you don't want to experience any problems!
I have contacted FC who have offered a full refund or free change of accomadation, however with only two weeks to go no suitable accomadation is coming up on the searches, (we booked inter-connecting rooms as our kids are 14 & 15 and don't want them in the same room as us), the free change of accomadation only covers admin charges if the price of new accomadation is higher you are required to cover the difference.
As FC have given such short notice i feel the only options they have left me is put up with the problems at HVWS or have your refund and good look in finding another holiday!

Has anybody else received the same letter and if so what action have you taken? would love to find out if there is any other options available for us.

Would definately never book through FC again, i said this when i booked through them 10 years ago, had nothing but problems with them then!

yes i recieved the same letter and was in the same predicament as yourselves being offered the same we was also offered an hotel of 3* called the melia as our boys same age as yours we also had interconnecting rooms. I was happy to take my money back and look else where even different part of world. Any way after alot of calls we have come to an agreement and taken 900 off our holiday we had payed for premium seats which we are keeping and still going WSHV. i would like to offer you this thought about the pool not being open and work going on. It is only the relaxation pool and not the activity pool with the size of your party the same as mine i would be looking for some sort of compensation before you travel.

We have decided to take the refund as the mixed reports ontop of the letter we recieved was just niggling away at me.

We are now going to Cayo Coco on 30/06/08 to a hotel and resort that has had very good reviews and was £700 cheaper so am happy.

We have not give up on HVWS but think we'll give it a year to get fully up and running and some fair reviews once completed, hope you and your family have a good time and please let us know what it was like when you return.

what hotel you going to in cayo coco i went there 2 years

i have just been looking at swapping to the holiday golden beach
in dom republic looks really nice in broucher but then again the

we went to HVGB last september & loved it! I know what you mean about them looking good in the broucures!! But yeah it was a reallly good holiday.

We've still got until September for HVWS to get sorted. But I hope everyone who is going soon/thinking of options to do has a good holiday

Don't panic too much (she says hopefully). I think our reviews are by approval only at the moment due to the amount of spam reviews. It should appear tomorrow once an Admin has read and approved it.

However there have been cases of reviews disappearing into the ether and for that reason we usually suggest that members type it up in Word or similar first so that they have a copy they can then copy and paste into the reviews site. Hopefully yours isn't one of those.

i stayed the the sister hotel the the sol called the tryp about a mile down the beach
we walked upto the sol a couple of times as you can use both and it was really
nice .
only you will know if you have done the right thing when you finally get a good holiday
when you go cuba don't atke any money but sterling as they charge the most for changing
dolllars as they hate all things american

hi all
supposed to have been going to hvws in september but having read reviews about the place decided to bail out. Rang first choice and told them of my concerns about the place and the photos we had seen on the web, they told us we could change the holiday no problem so we have moved to the iberostar no admin charge. Sorry to be so negative but we could not take the chance of the hvws not been ready I would like to say that the person at first choice i spoke to was very understanding and had no problems in helping us out

we are booked to go in september aswell, at the moment we are keeping our booking and will probably keep our booking and go to the HVWS. Hope you have a good holiday at the iberostar
