Hello,
Due to go to Nerja in just under 4 weeks time and I'll be just over 15 weeks pregnant.
Does anyone have any tips on what foods to avoid whilst over in Spain? I would imagine that paella is out, and obviously will be sticking to bottled water. I wouldn't think I could eat the salads either, given that I would think they're washed in Spanish water.
Am I resigning myself to a week of steak and chips?!
Any tips/advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
samanthatracey
No mayonaise
No peanuts
No pate
No raw eggs
No coleslaw
No jacuzzi
am sure there are many more
Congrats on your future arrival. Enjoy the holiday realx. Dont spend too much time in the dead heat of the sun
There shouldn't be a problem with salads, the tap water is perfectly safe to drink, athough I would still drink the bottled water.
When you get here you'll probably be nicely surprised at the variety of restaurants that you can eat in.
Have a safe trip. x
I would be careful in the sun though, I found that I was much more sensitive to it whilst pregnant and burnt really easily!
15 weeks is a good time to go on holiday, just the time when you're sarting to feel less tired and before you sart to feel uncomfortable.
Relax and enjoy yourself and watch all the couples chasing toddlers around - that'll be you next time
Just a tip, I went to cyprus when I was 23 weeks pregnant and I found that sunbathing with a white towel over my belly to reflect the hot rays away from the baby, helped me feel a lot more comfortable. I avoided ice cubes and water as id normally would have done anyway, also no seafood and mayo, I had a lovely time and swam lots for exercise, also make sure you drink lots of water on the flight and get up and move around every half an hour, as your more prone to dvt whilst pregnant, have a lovely holiday.
Thank you everyone, I'm getting excited now, about the pregnancy and going on holiday!
