We have already posted information on this site asking for details on a cancelled holiday to kemer in turkey through this "holidays 4u" travel company.Well guess what ?? yes your right we have just received another 'phone call from co-op travel to tell us holidays 4u have yet again cancelled the holiday to side we booked to replace the one they already scrapped to kemer. PLEASE can someone shed some light on to this topic,We are due to travel on 17/07/06 although this may seem enough time to some people to book something else we really want to go to the hemera hotel which thy have just cancelled. We know that Thomas Cook and Cosmos do use this hotel but the prices are drasticallty different. It would be nice if some one can tell us where do we stand with Co-op transfering our holiday to a company that are still going there at no extra cost to us. Do they have any obligation to us to honour the booking??
UPDATE: Holidays4u ceased trading on 3 August 2011. To go directly to the posts in this topic which discuss the collapse, please click here.

Just read posts about holidays 4u..........Don't get me started!!!!!!!!!!!! We got a price for a holiday to kemer from a small independant agent with holidays 4u,then Co-op travel beat the price by over £150 so we booked with them ,the assistant wasn't sure if the Co-op used holidays 4u but was assured by head office that they could so we went ahead and booked it all went well, then a few weeks later we got a 'phone call to say the holiday had been cancelled due to lack of sales so we were offered another destination- we settled on side and the hemera hotel and by posts on this site we seemed to get a better deal. Then low and behold tonight ( after bragging to my friends "9 weeks to go!!!!" ) I get ANOTHER 'phone call to say our holiday has been cancelled YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! We have been offered a refund or "similar" accomodation in Bodrum or Dalaman. NOT happy I can tell you. Off to see Co-op in the morning for more details. Does any one know why this company is having such bad sales or are we picking really bad holidays. It is not the hotel because the reports posted here are amazing
I've merged the two topics to keep all the info in one place
This is the second year we have booked with holidays 4 u and I can't fault them. Last year we got a package, very cheap I might add, and it was fine from start to finish. This year we have booked flights and we don't travel for another five weeks but I have recieved the tickets this morning. I have checked them and they are all correct I kept thinking that maybe they were wrong because they are so early but hey I don't mind I am really excited now and can't wait for the next five weeks to pass.

Wonder if anyone has used this company for booking holidays?
Never used this company before always gone with the main ones so wonder if anyone else has used them ?
We used this company back in 2005, had no problems at all, just as good as your big Tour Operators. We got a really good priced hol from them as they use the cheaper airlines (or they did when we went with them) we flew with Onur Air, no inflight entertainment but you got free soft drinks and a meal (meal was not at all edible but it was free! ).
I'm sure you will have no problems with them whatsoever.
Happy holidays
Most of their flights are with onurair, still no inflight entertainment, also no free meals and drinks anymore, but you can purchase drinks, snacks, etc and more expensive than other airlines. Our son has booked with them this year, very efficient with paperwork and sending out email tickets, got his a week ago for travel 1st June, also no problems contacting them on the phone.
My daughters friend has booked with holidays4u and they are due to travel next thurs with no sign of tickets yet they have phoned several times still no tickets the last call today they were told they would email them but nothing yet needless to say they are getting very worried. Anyone got any advice I could pass on please?
Turkey specialist collapses with 12,000 abroad
Turkey specialist Holidays 4U, which was also trading as Aegean Flights, has collapsed with 12,000 holidaymakers overseas.
Ian Oakley-Smith and David Chubb of PwC have been appointed joint administrators of the Brighton-based company, where 18 people were employed. Most of them have lost their jobs.
Oakley-Smith said: "The company has suffered because of the difficulties faced by the travel industry during 2010 and 2011, as a result of the economic downturn. The director has determined that the business is no longer able to trade and placed the company into administration.
"The company will cease operating with immediate effect. Regrettably most staff have been made redundant. We will be working closely with employees affected by this decision to ensure they receive the support they need during this difficult time to assist with their claims for redundancy and other compensatory payments."
The company, which had an annual turnover of £35m, held an ATOL licence and was a member of ABTA.
It specialised in selling flights and package holidays to Turkey. Customers currently abroad will be repatriated by the CAA while those who are yet to travel have been advised to contact their travel agent. Those who booked direct with the company have been told to see the CAA's website.
Passengers booked with the company on all future flights, including tonight's flight from Manchester to Dalaman at 21:00, should not travel to the airport and should refer to the Civil Aviation Authority for more information, said the administrators.

Had my flights booked for July next year, we were travelling with 2 other families who will be in the same situation, already paid for in full!
50,000 hit by collapse of Holidays 4U
Thousands of customers could be left out of pocket following the collapse of Brighton-based Turkey specialist Holidays 4U today.
The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that around 50,000 holidaymakers will be hit by the failure of the company, which also traded as Aegean Flights.
Some 13,000 people were abroad with the tour operator when it announced it had gone into administration and the company had taken a further 20,000 bookings, with an average of three passengers for each one.
The CAA confirmed that all flights and packages sold by the operator will be protected under its ATOL, but customers who bought flight-only deals will not be refunded for the accommodation they bought separately.
"We don't know what proportion of the company's forward bookings were flight only, but it could be a significant number," said a CAA spokesman.
The CAA said those who are abroad at the moment will be allowed to continue their holidays and fly home as planned and they should check-in at the airport as usual. If flight times have changed, these will be posted on the CAA website http://www.caa.co.uk.
All future departures to Turkey, including those due to leave this evening, have been cancelled.
Passengers who have booked packages or charter flights through Holidays 4U should make a claim for a refund through the CAA.
PwC have been appointed as administrators by Holidays 4U, which blamed 'difficulties faced by the travel industry in 2010 and 2011' for its collapse. The company, which has a turnover of £35m, said it was no longer able to continue trading. Up to 18 members of staff have lost their jobs.

Thats why I always stick with the larger Tour Operators Thomsons or Thomas Cook
I have just been onto Natwest Visa, they are issuing me a claim form for the flight I purchased for Aegean in 2012. Will just re-book with another company. What can you do hey!
You dont seem to have a lot of luck with your flights do you Ruth
I had wanted to change the dates of my flights, but this way is a tad drastic. I just can't believe it, 2 years on the run. I am just happy it was for a 2012 holiday and not for our 2011 holiday.
Back to helping matters.
If anyone would like any help with forms or the process, please drop me a PM.
Ruth you seem like you have this one sorted!
Also, should anybody need assistance I will help out where I can. I have only dealt with Natwest Visa so can only offer assistance from that end. But know first hand how this can feel... Hey, at least I'm not stranded at Dalaman this time
Wow... Not long back from my trip with Agean/Holidays4u & was looking yesterday at booking for next year, that was close!!!
As a big Turkey traveller, the loss of Holidays4u will be felt. Holidays4u was regarded as one of the big Turkey Tour Operators and I know that travel agents used them alot also.
