Not stayed at this hotel but have passed it, and it looks nice, there is a santa susanna topic on, have a look at that, the station is on the front you can go lots of places very cheap, the beach stretches for miles, malgrat is next door you walk into it and still think your in santa susanna as it just blends into one, you must try the little whalley train from santa susanna kids love it, you will be on it for an hour, lots of night entertainment from the hotels you can go in any of them, lots of entertainment is outside, lots of stalls at night playing pipe music, a good day out is the boat ride to tossa de mar, and it's a lovely place to go, you will enjoy it

your hotel is on the border of malgrat and SS(i thought it was on malgrat side).plenty of shops/cafes/bars all the way into malgrat town, but be careful of the souvenir type shops with Indian looking gentlemen running them as they tend to be very persistent_and annoying-if you show any interest in anything they sell.they will try and overcharge you, but if you really want something you can get them to drop the price.
the market in SS is about 100 yards from your hotel and runs right along to the station.
there is british pub across the railway line that has music/karaoke most nights.
there are plenty of trips out with the reps, but before going with your rep read all the literature for the other tour operators as well as that way you will get a better picture of what is on offer.
careful at beach as water gets deep very quickly.
malgrat is lovely little spanish town, not normally overrun by yobs.i would make sure you go on noddy train from outside your hotel on a round trip. takes about 1 hour and costs about £1.50 each but will show you all you need to see in malgrat-including bits of the old town most tourists miss

The pub across the road is called the ship, we had a few nights at quiz and karoke, and an odd lunch there, also handy to nip in from the beach, the little train from santa susanna takes you up into the hills where you can see great views, that is not the same train as the malgrat one, both are good though, if you enjoy walking a 20 minute stroll will take you into pineda which is a nice walk along the beach, or you can get bikes outside the hotel, the three wheel kind, or one stop on the train

Going to the Hotel Alhambra in August. 1st time that I will of had any sun on my bones for 8 years (hubby wont fly.. so finally got him on the coach instead). Any one been to this hotel? any tips etc on the resort, hotel or long coach journey- taking 2 kids 6 & 14
