Hi Carole . We have stayed at hilton sharks bay twice . and were also put in the conrad for an evening and a day when our plane was delayed. we didnt obviously spend that long at the conrad and probably under the circumstances wernt in the right frame of mind at that point so you will have to make allowances for that but going on observations here goes based on what we saw/used at the conrad in our short time there. we also have teenagers 16, 14, 11.
Conrad wins hands down in terms of beach . fabulous .
hilton beach is small but has good made man sand sun terraces
pool area hilton has 4 pools . 1 main one , childrens with a water slide and 2 small quiter ones . all are attractive
from what I saw conrad only had the one (although i could be wrong and im sure someone will correct me if im wrong) but i didnt think it particularly attractive . there was a funny old fashioned high wall thing in the centre blocking the view and couldnt understand why it was there but maybe thats me nickpicking
the food/main buffet resturant was much better at the hilton . hilton has a bigger selection and the resturant has more ambiance (sorry spelling
) and is much bigger . conrads main one that we ate in was much smaller and tables were not cleared as quickly. food was not as nice . but I think pippi has said she thought it had improved but we found it quite bland in comparision to what we had just left at the hilton.
the sea view rooms at the conrad looked stunning and im sure they were. we were put in a standard room which was down big long underground corridors which reminded me of an underground car park. the actual rooms were very nice though.
we also had standard rooms at the hilton which were also very nice similar in size so both about equal but the one at the conrad we stayed in had a bath which they dont have at the hilton. hilton has a wlk in shower.
cant comment on sunbeds at the conrad but no trouble at the hilton. if you are going school holiday time and you want a particularly position then you would need to get up but if you give the pool boy a tip he puts the towels out for you anyway. but you will always find a bed somewhere.

Hi John
I'd definitely recommend the Conrad Sharm El Sheikh Resort.
I've stayed there twice with my teenage daughter and her friend. My Mum has stayed there three times. Never had any security issues or felt at all unsafe.
ALL females of any age will receive attention from Egyptian men no matter where you go!
We've never felt threatened by this though. We made a point of telling the girls not to be taken in by any flattery
As Lyn says, the beach is fantastic! The house reef is also superb and easy to access via the jetty (you can swim in the sea off the beach so long as you don't stray near the reef, plenty of room to swim, snorkel etc without venturing onto the jetty if you don't fancy it).
I'm not a particularly fussy eater
Food was ok when I went in 2005. This year it was really good in my opinion.
You can read Conrad reviews HERE and see pics of the hotel, beach, sea, reef and rooms HERE.

hi,thanks for your replies, conrad beach looks good, still alittle worried about security of rooms.daughters have dealt with lads in turkey, tunisia ,and india last couple of years(and here in liverpool lol )so not too worried there .perhaps someone will post about a different hotel.what weather is expected in march ? thaks john
why not try the coral sea resort ,stayed there this year and its superb in every way two nice freeform pools ,never had a hint of bother or heard of it either ,food good to excellent ,service superb ,entertaiment reasonable ,very good some nights ,your best bet is to go into hotel reviews accesed at top of this page and read what others have to say
yes I was gonna suggest the coral sea resort or maybe the new holiday village. these are both first choice/eclipse run hotels so you wont get any competition on price but reviews are particularly good for the coral sea and the village has just opened so not sure how thats doing.
weather will be good in March . hot. temps mid twenties to mid thirties. they dont get rain.
pips .
I cant believe you took a picture of your hotel door. Was it a new camera by any chance.

Are you looking to go to sharm, if not how about Hurghada we went there this summer it felt very safe, we stayed in the Grand Resort which was a lovely hotel they have 3 pools and you can also use the pools over the road at the Grand Hotel, the beach is also over the road and has two waterslides we never had a porblem getting sunbeds as there was plenty,
John just got back from CSR yesterday, lovely place and secure, also booked for HV and went around there twice, think there may be more going on at HV than CSR to entertain your teenagers.
good luck
Kazee
