Any idea on how much you paid, i assume it wasnt anything horrific as there are 5 of us and it maybe cheaper to move hotels.

We are staying at the cleopatra tsokkos hotel.

Its about a 5 min ride into the main area by taxi.

Is that the same restaurant on the beach that has been mentioned in the best places to eat thread ??

a colleague from work stayed in the cleopatra and she could not say a bad word about the hotel very clean and friendly staff. only problem its off the beach but she had a taxi to the beach at el fannar, which im told is fab and also good for snorkelling, one im certainly going to visit while we are in egypt. There is also a public beach at Sharks Bay dont know how far away this is from your hotel though. Happy holidays.

The cleopatra is near to where I stayed last time, and in fact my dad went on holiday there a few months after I got back. He didnt have a bad word to say about, and spent most of his day around the pool. I dont think you'll have too many problems. If you do I think that some of the nearest, and nicest, hotels to you are the Mexicana Sharm (where I stayed.....lovely), The Rock (have also stayed there too....v.lovely), and the Ocean Club (not as impressive as the others but still nice). Im pretty sure you wouldnt have a problem using their pools as long as they get your service at the bar/snack bar!
