hi there theres 4 lads going on may the 2nd 05 staying at the magamar, n e one know how busy it will be? how far from the beach? how much will taxi cost n how long from airport? and will there be lots of ladies going
quiet/200m/25-30 euros/20-30mins/probably not
The magama is designed like a prison. If you come out of your front door you can step out and look up and down at the all the other apartments, you will know what I mean when you get there.
The apartments have a great pool, they play R&B and dance all the time. They have a great snack bar, poolside bar etc. The entertainment in the apartments is brilliant too.. hynotists, wet t-shirt competitions etc..
No one goes to bed till about 6.30 and they don't get up till about 2pm. Thats the only time the Magamar is quiet. When I was there they had to have the police in every night because of fighting.
Its quite a long walk to the beach but not too far. A taxi to the main bit is about 5 euros.
I don't know how busy it will be this time of year but you will have a great time.
Only takes 15 mins to walk to the beach!!
yer have heard mixed reviews on the place everyone saying its like a prison its like marmite prob u either love it or hate it, but then what u expect for your money we payed £90 for flight n acc. so bit of a bargain
Enjoy your holiday boys but please do not post on the forum in phone text style.

Girls off 2 Magaluf 16th May - 31st! Any1 else goin around then? and could anybody tell me what it's like in Magamar Apartments! thnxxx
I stayed in the Magamar in August 2004 with 4 other girls and 4 guys, and had a great holiday.
The hotel is very basic, but just what you need. The rooms sleep either four or six, with a good sized bathroom with shower and a kitchen area with fridge, kettle and toaster. Each room also has a large balcony. DEFINITELY hire a fan, as the rooms become almost unbearably hot - they have ceiling fans but for all the good these are they might as well not be there! It's also worth hiring a safety deposit box, as although we had no problems at all the apts. didn't seem the most secure.
The hotel can get VERY noisy at night as it's all kind of open plan, so you can hear the noise from all the floors. Each bedroom has a window which opens into the hallway, so make sure you close your windows then it shouldn't be so bad. It's far enough away from the resort centre though that you don't get the noise from the clubs. Also, it's exclusive to Freestyle, which means no children to worry about!
The maids visited the room every day, it was always clean and the beds were usually made (unless someone was still in it of course, which was usually the case!). We had clean towels almost every day as well. Everything seemed to be in good working order - we had a few cold showers but on the whole the water was hot and the plumbing was working.
The resort centre, with the strip and BCM and so on, is about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel, but the pubs start just around the corner. It's very convenient for McDonalds, unfortunately. Don't even try to be lazy and get a taxi home after a night out, the taxi drivers just laugh at you and say "No, the hotel just round corner!".
The swimming pool isn't bad, but not the best. It's quite small and there aren't many sun loungers. However, there are a few other Fiesta hotels nearby, and you're allowed to use their facilities. The Sahara and the Jungla are just round the corner, on opposite sides of the road. My cousin stayed at the Jungla at the same time we were there so we used that pool a few times, and the Sahara pool is meant to be good too.
Don't know if you've been to Magaluf before, but you MUST go to Pirates, it was the best night we had there. It's like being 5 again, but with alcohol! The boys also recommended the karting.
Hope this helps, please feel free to ask any more questions and I'll try my best to answer. Have a brilliant holiday - we did!
Amy
