I wouldn't think all the other hotels wouldn't be booked already but I was surprised to see mainly the hemera coming up. They might be pushing the hemera for some reason. Everybody has heard about the disco and are cancelling.

I actually think if doesn't mention disco and bars nearby can cause a disturbance until the early hours of the morning there is a case to cancel and get a return of your deposit or change to another hotel for free.

I have been looking at mexico instead not much more expensive and no more expensive than the hemera with thomsons or thomas cook. Thomsons prices have gone up a fair bit this year.

Has anybody been mid september to the end of september, how warm are the evenings when it gets to around 10pm-11pm. What we wanted and why we booked august was we like the hot evening to sit out and enjoy a few drinks.

Thanks snow white. Now will the dread disco be open for a longer period next year, we could change our dates to next year to september but will the disco decide to stay open till october next year.

I don't think these places should get planning permission unless they are minimum distance from a hotel, say 1 mile. I image bribes are common in turkey for somebody to get what they want. I can see the hemera's booking going right down once its know about oxdy.

The only positive is the smoking ban, the russians will hate it, ha,ha. :haha

I have the closing date for oxyd this year 15 september.

It sounds like I might be able to get a better deal for the Hemera next year! A disco won't bother me much, poor food, watered down alcohol would bother me more!

I dont think the real problem will be the hotels own disco. I think it will be the one that is opposite the hotel and open till 4 in the morning 4 days a week. I would imagine if the hotels own disco starts bothering it's guests they will do something about it, but presumably they won't be able to influence what happens at the one across the road. :really

Hi

Well, we leave stansted on thursday june 19th at 18.25 and will therefore arrive in resort early hours of the morning, so will hear/see first hand what going on on arrival from the sound of previous postings!

I so want this holiday to be ok..... and have agreed with hubby that we will have to wait til we are there, but secretly very very disappointed knowing that a nightclub is on door step, but an open air one at that, is worse.

Im not bothered about the hotel disco, they normally finish about 1.30-2ish anyway...... but a rave club is totally different, horrible thunding noise that they call music til 4am is not something im looking forward to hearing.

Can diffo see the Hemera going down.......... which will be a bonus for all the those rave loving young people, as price may lower too.....

This is weird the hermera has been removed from the direct holidays site. I was looking at changing to september next year, but not sure if the prices will suddenly rise. On thomas cook site the hemera with direct holidays are not coming up as well.

Hi, if the Oxyd disco is so noisy, why hasn't anyone mentioned it in the reviews for the hotel last year?
Just looked on the disco's website and it was established in 2006 so why weren't people complaining?
I can't wait to go the Hemera, 7 weeks to go!

Send Photo to a FriendOXYD is the biggest disco in Side. It composed by 2 floors and one pool area(which is open air). Has free pop-corn for make you thirsty :) In my opinion, most expensive(about 10-15 Euros) but most quality one. It has the same type of music just like other Side discos. Popular music, R&B, turkish dance music(not belly one) are the most prefered ones. It has green laser show :) And some nights there is a dance show.

Wear bikini, swim suit under your clothes if you wish to jump to refreshing pool in pool area. :) I am not sure if it is restricted now.

Theme: Dancing
Address: It is in the middle of Side and Kumköy.
Directions: You wont miss it, it looks like a castle built from sand with wooden sticks outside walls.

The OXYD disco was definately in action last July and August yet I haven't seen one review of the hotel that mentions noise from it. If you look on Youtube you will see videos of it from last July. Stop worrying and start looking forward to your holiday!

I gave direct holidays a call today and they the hermera had been taken off sale completely and he didn't know the reason why. I wonder if it was priced up wrong and they are now re-pricing it before putting hemera for sale again.

But thomas cook have taken quite a few hotels around side off sale as well.

Strange.

I will wait for reports to come in when the hotels reviews pick up and from people on this thread. I am booked in for next august which is a good price for next year, but portland was a bargain last year 2 adults 1 child £1200, this year £2400.

thats just great :yikes .now im left wondering if the holiday ive booked for next year will actually happen if direct have taken it off sale . :(

Hi lyn,
Thomas cook appear to have taken the hotel that I recently booked for next july off sale to the Paloma Perissia also in Side, not sure what they are up to with Side holidays. It is unavailable all next summer now! One reason is it may be to do with the contracts for these particular hotels!!
I am sure we will be fine though and they will go back on sale! I have seen this happen before.
Reply
It could be they are handing the contracts over to a Russian holiday company! It is happening elsewhere in Turkey.

Thats what I thought, they would come back with new prices and he did there was nothing with my booking, its still on his system. He said any changes we would be informed in writing. I was looking to change to september but now will have to keep to the same dates if the price goes up.

Violet I booked quick and got my daughter and her boyfriend to get booked up because I believed the price wouldn't stay around for long.

don't mention the russians. I doubt it, their reputation would plummet.
