Anyone been lately? If so, what can I expect? I'm only visiting my dad for 3 nights early December so don't need a palace but by the same token, it has to be reasonable.... Thanks in advance

Hi,

Am thinking of booking the Natali in Torremolinos for this Nov/Dec, as its fairly cheap. I'm taking my elderly parents, staying on a full board basis.
I can only see 1 review of this hotel on this website, and thats over a year old now.
It looks a nice enough place - your average decent enough Spanish 3star. Has anyone stayed at this hotel recently, or know of it? If so then please give me your comments - It'll be much appreciated.

Hiya Ali
You might not like this, but you did ask :)

Average Spanish hotel which is very popular with the Spanish OAP's, the Government send hundreds there on their "free" holiday and it would (I guess) cater for them.
Location:near the bus station near the centre of Torremolinos.
Location: No good for elderly parents who want to see and walk by the sea.....hundreds of steps to go up/down....my parents wouldn't have managed it...there is a lift that takes you so far up, but it is still a climb for old folks back to the hotel....sorry!
The location is Ok if you are fit and want to use the bus to go up/down the coast and the train station is not too far away, but if you're thinking of a British orientated hotel near the sea.....forget it love. IMO.

Here's a map of Torremolinos. the hotel Natali is situated on Calle Hoyo near the bus station (marked pink square on map)....the train station is marked in blue and you have to walk down Calle San Miquel (coloured in red) and then down hundreds of steps to reach the promenade.
Like I say, there is a lift, I think it is 50 centimos each way, but it still is a trek for old people just to the lift.
IMO: Look for somewhere else, there are far superior hotels on the flat promenade between Torremolinos and Benalmadena....they all should have reasonable prices in November especially if you are not tied down to specific dates..

Have to agree with Sanji on this one. Hotel Natali is not in the best location, nor is it one of the better hotels (I think it has improved but used to trade under another name and featured on one of the Holidays from Hells programmes)

As Sanji says La Carihuela & Montemar is a better area, much flatter and with a long promenade running to the marina in Benalmadena.

Hotels in this area include Pez Espada, Amaragua, Sol Aloha Puerto, Sol Timor, La Barracuda amongst others.

This is a very pleasant area.

Cheers

Hi Mark.
It was called the Royal Park, it certainly still shares the same address as the hotel Natali ( Calle Hoyo 28 ) and I believe it was refurbished in 2005, but after a bit of "googling" to my surprise it is still being named on some websites as the Royal Park and also using the new name Natali as a seperate hotel, for the same hotel, if that makes sense...they obviously have not updated their pages  and that is very mis-leading....in fact you could say naughty.!

Regardless of whether or not it has been refurbished and changed hands, my own personal view (like yours) is that it is no good for elderly parents and I'm just trying to put myself in the same situation with my late mam & dad, they would have hated it and never managed to walk to the beach.
This is a very pleasant area.

Perfecto !

This hotel must have reverted to calling itself Hotel Natali as it was in the late 80s. I know it got quite a bad name, then closed and changed its name to Royal Park, now it seems it's back to Natali again - no wonder some of the maps can't keep up with it!! I agree with all the other comments, it's town centre, but a good trek from the beach and the Paseo.
