dont know how we got the picture there,but it is.
you can see the scaffolding around the non existing balconies.
you cant see the ground area which is a building site.
didnt see any workers all the time we were there.

we left 3rd june and by the looks it has'nt changed at all . it still has the scaffolding around the balconies.
thanks for putting the photos on the site. i contacted h top group in spain and have been informed that i will now be staying in the pinada palace hotel instead. not to chuffed about this because at the end of the day this is false advertising on the part of holiday nights who stated on their website that the calella palace has been "completely refurbished". any tips as to what i should do or can do about my situation. i leave on monday.
I am booked into this hotel in Aug 06 and i have just contact the H Top reservations centre in Spain. They have just advised me that the builders have not told them it will be finished on the 01st august 2006.

at this moment i am in the pineda palace and will travel to calella on sunday. two people here say that the work is only at third floor level. will let you all know on sunday night sumtime. it just seems to me that all h.top want to do is keep all of their bookings and distribute to their other hotels. must be at least twenty people here that were destined for the calella palace.
I f I were you I would have a word with your tour operator because the pineda palace is set in a remote area with no amenities,or bars worth mentioning,it isnt calella nor is it lloret.
It is a one horse town and regardless of the fact that htop lay on a free bus to its sister hotels,this service is not regular,also htop have known since the start of the year that the osiris would not be ready on time,firstly the amaika was the substitute,now the pineda palace conveniently located in no-mans land,depends what you want from your holiday,whether you want to be near the action ,or miles away from it.
Hope everything works out fine for you and that you end up having an enjoyable holiday,but dont let yourselves be fooled!

in ferris's brochure it states that anyone booking the Osiris will be put up in the Amaika, which seems like a good deal, but with the prices being charged the renovation needs to be a good one as this hotel was 3* and the prices for this year were definitely 4* and so i would expect a very big improvement when it is finished.
i suppose all T/O's have their own policy for dealing with the non completion of the Osiris, but i know that i would not be happy booking calella and getting pineda. if told in advance i suppose i would be looking to get the amaika or a hotel in malgrat or lloret, but that is just my choice.

My point exactly! seems like a raw deal to me,better off in a 4star in lloret or calella,but bearing in mind these people have forked out top dollar to stay in a newly renovated hotel with the smell of fresh paint,not some poor substitute last given a lick of paint 4 years ago,people book a holiday,hand over their well earned dosh then get tossed from pillar to post,it is not right!

Thanks for the bit of info about Pineda. I am suppose to be staying in the Calella Palace on the 09th Aug 206 for 2 weeks with my family. I have been told that the builders have told H Top that they should be finished by 01st Aug 2006. I dont think so myself. I know that i am going to be put in an alternative hotel. I dont want to stay in the Amika and i dont want Lloret. Now with Pineda being to quiet - what else is left. I have an 11yr old son and need a hotel with plenty to do and were they will have other children about his age. What about Santa Susanna. Would this be a better choice or would you say the Royal Beach in Lloret as a last resort.

royal beach is a good enough hotel.i've stayed twice and would not be unhappy to get that one.
htop have the royal sun on the beach at the malgrat/santa sussanah junction which is also a good hotel,right on the beach and even though there seems to be a lot of stairs i think i would prefer this to pineda.
they also have the planamar which is a smaller hotel in malgrat which i personally think is in a great spot with a lovely pool and garden.i would be more than happy with that one,but it is only 3* though it seems a pricey 3* in the brochures.

Is the calella palace opened yet my mate is just back from calella 2 weeks ago and he said there was still work going on then this hotel was sceduled to be opened early july
