Well, I can see the back of the President Hotel from my balcony!

Certainly some of the rooms must have a view of Spinola Bay, it's a good location set back away from the main road off a side street.

You'd be well located for buses, shops, restaurants and night life etc. But I haven't stayed there I'm afraid. I could pop in later and take a look around if you like?

Also I would check the availability of flights - the ebay deal doesn't seem to include them.

Well, I've been and had a look at the President Hotel. It is on a side street and the back rooms face Spinola Bay.

At the moment it is full of Dutch, German and Swiss language students. The chap on reception said they were fully booked until August 18th but would have more parties arriving later on.

He did say that there are a couple of UK agencies that send him guests and he seemed genuinely surprised when I asked for the tariff list! He mentioned Sunspot - never heard of them. They do have a website.

The entrance and lobby area are quite small but seemed tidy, the restaurant is on the ground floor and seemed large enough but nothing too special. The swimming pool is on the roof and there was plenty of noise coming from the street side rooms.

His list quotes direct prices as B&B High season double room 22LM pppn, low season 19LMpppn. Full Board was 30LM pppn High Season and 23LM pppn low season.

Not much help I know and he wouldn't let me see any rooms as they were all occupied.
