My mate and I, have Benidorm as a possible destination for the end of July for 5 nights.
We're 29/30 years of age, so imagine we will be going into the square/strip (not sure which Benidorm have as never been), but at the same time don't want stag/hen do's bouncing in at 4am as one or two days we'd like to take things easy and be asleep at a reasonable hour - we can't do 5 early morning finishes as my mate gets bad hangovers, so we've agreed to do 3 nights out where it's busy and 2 nights where it's more civilised.
Anyway, 2 hotels that I've noticed where people have said it's quietish are the Regente & Nereo, but I'm wondering, for those who have been, what others you'd recommend?
2 other questions, which I asked on another thread but no harm in asking again...
From the aiport is it roughly an hours taxi ride?
How much do they charge?
Thanks in advance
I dont think you'd go far wrong with either of those hotels really. Ive stayed at the Regente many times...its a nice, smaller hotel, with decent food, and friendly staff. It is also offering All Inclusive now though...which can attract stag and hens, but almost any hotel these days can get some of these in i'm afraid. Its obviously more of a problem at weekends as thats when the majority of stag and hens visit. I've not been to the Nereo but its a good standard hotel, again in a good location. A hotel more Spanish in Character which doesn't attract these groups..as yet...is THe Mont Park...quiet at night but just 3/4 mins from the beach, and 10 mins to all the entertainment! The Calypso and Los Dalmatus might be another couple of hotels you'd like to look at!
As for a taxi from alicante to benidorm its about 40/45 minutes but im not sure of the price maybe someone else can help you with that
Thanks both of you, I'll check them out.
if not them 2 try the hotel royal i can garentee you will get a good nights kip its at the far end of the new town about 15min to the square and 5 from the beach its brill stayed there 2yr ago and going back again 18th june or if you want somthing a bit more central the hotel don pancho another fantastic place to stay
I looked on hotels4u.com and found for The Mont Park - £272.78, 5 nights from 22nd July for me and my mate (Bed & Breakfast)
is that for both of you or each if its for both of you its a brill deal
Prices based on 2 adult(s), 22 July 2010, 5 nights
so I guess it's for both of us. Too good to be true?
It says so I guess it's for both of us. Too good to be true?
thats a good deal for july the hotel royal or don pancho is about £510 for the 2 of you so i would say go for it but double check with them first
For a basic clean hotel, with decent food, at a good price, in a good location i dont think you can go far wrong here!...Its not the Ritz...but you aint paying Ritz prices. I only use my hotel for sleep and decent food, the rest of the time i'm out and about, and this hotel is fine for me! You sometimes have to queue a bit a meal times, so at Dinner i make sure i get down early...they dont start serving dinner here till 7.30.
The main complaints in the reviews seem to centre on the fact that the hotel caters for The Spanish...well yes there are quite a lot stay there...its in Spain, and that the Reception Staff are a bit surely...which to be honest (apart from the lady) they are, but i used to find it a challenge to get a smile out of them! Lol!...The Staff in the Restaurant are all fine! It does the job for me!

Taggy, hotels4u.com is showing as £276.57 for half board? Or did you mean TR was £290?
On Travel Republic its £290 for Half Board and £308 for Full Board.....ive booked it with them for September!
I checked TR but can't find the hotel listed for £290?
Taxi's from Alicante to Benidorm are expensive but you can get shuttle transfers for £10 each return with Travel Republic:-
http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/AirportTransfers/apCriteria.aspx
You don't have to book your hotel with them to use their site to book your transfers.
I think a taxi would be about £150.00 return so its a hell of a difference.

Mark mentioned shuttle bus for £9 which I've found and printed out - are these straight forward and do they have lots of them going each day, so never long to wait once you have collected baggage?
