thats if they are not still on strike mazza
Yes fatboy ...Saw a bit on news yesterday about them again not what you want to hear could be a ongoing thing with them cheers mazza
any one done all inclusive at rio park....is it as good as flamingo oasis?
Dont think they start all-inclusive till November.
going to the rio in a couple of weeks, but having read some reviews, im having second thoughts, with all the comments about muggings, pickpockets, and not to walk along the "yellow brick road at night".
does anyone know of a way to avoid walking the yellow brick road, when making our way back to the hotel at night?
any information would be appreciated, and also the best bars (cheap ones) and best cabarets act to see.
many thanks
If you're having 2nd thought I will buy your holiday from you VERY cheaply of course, that way you can have peace of mind.
that wasnt exactly what I was after .

The Yellow Brick road is not that bad in my opinion. You can go along Calle Jaen and down either Avenida Europa or Avenida de Cuenca if you prefer to walk along roads that have cars going by. If you look fearful and/or vulnerable or are falling down drunk, then you will be more likely to be a target.
If you turn left out of the hotel, then right on Calle Jaen, you will come to three cheap bars, BB's, Tigger's and Cheap and Cheerful. All have €1 pints and offers on local spirits.
Can't help with the cabaret bars. We don't tend to go in them much.
Not knowing what your tastes are, heres a few really good acts to keep you going.
DebnHer - Fantastic Female Duo, on at many venues including The Tropical, Morgans Tavern, Buddies, Sinatras,White Horse.
Neil Ross - Great Singer, best in Beni in my opinion, he's on at The Town every night at 9pm
Rikki Stevens - Comedian, also on at The Town at 11pm
Dave Keegan - Great Elvis show again at The Town 12 pm.
One Vision (Queen Musical Tribute) - Morgans Tavern and UK Bar
Smart Move - Superb Male Duo on at Stardust
Boyzone Tribute - These are a new show in town, on at Stardust and Rachels Bar
Mike Curtis - Comedian , at The Zodiac and Sandras
Shoewaddywaddy - at Western Saloon and Rock and Roll House
DAnny Downing - Comedian - at Rockerfellas
Gary George - comedian at Sandras and Zodiac
Moff (Freddie Mercury) - Talk of the Coast
Theres quite a few others such as Black Eyed Peas, Girls Aloud,Lady Gaga, Albi Senior...too many to mention them all...but some ideas for you there
Best Regards - Taggy
PS...Rich Bitch drag show in Old Town a great night out too!

It was a sensible reply, I was looking to buy your holiday from you if you were too worried about going, I was doing you a favour, you have more to worry about in whatever town you're from than you ever have in Benidorm.
feel better knowing that there is another way to the hotel, thanks for all the info on the bars etc.
will let you know how we get on.
Does anyone know the meal times for the Rio Park? Many thanks.
will let you know how we get on.

We have never stayed in the Rio Park before but have always heard good reports.
Anyone stopped here lately always stop on the indoor market side but this hotel seems very cheap and only going for a week just want to know if food ok and clean also anyone know if it has free wifi, in 2 minds wether to book the Ambassordor but its £110 dearer and with money tight it seems a lot more just for the extra meal and free wifi for 3 of us
Rio Park has free WiFi for guests. It is clean and the food was good last time we stayed. We thought it was better than the Ambassador.
If anyone is concerned about going down the yellow brick road, there are plenty of other options. I have found this week to be a really enjoyable one and never once felt unsafe and I hope you will feel the same and have just has a good time as we have.
Sue.
