Jan........that's usual for the internet holiday shops (it's part of what keeps their costs down, no stamps, admin to deal with  )

Print the voucher take it with you and you hand it into reception on your arrival to confirm the booking. If it makes you feel happier we always email the hotel about 2 weeks before we go just to confirm all is in order.

Have a great holiday 8)

We will be doing this next year when we visit. We will book with Onthebeach.com

I always print two vouchers just in case i loose one.

Hi janbabe - as Claire and miss chief says, this is quite normal and on your second DIY you'll not give it a second thought. Relax - all will go well and you'll have a wonderful holiday. I was worried about every step of my first DIY holiday and just knew that it would be a disaster  I don't give it a second thought now. As long as you use a reputable company and to be on the safe side confirm the hotel as suggested, there should be little to go wrong. Have a terrific time and enjoy spending all that money that you have saved!! :D Jenny x

Wll not be using onthebeach now as the reviews on here are pretty bad.

Looking on last minute.com and got a great deal on there in Jan for £300, 2 adults for a week - flights and hotel

I have used last minute.com and hotelsrus for hotel bookings abroad loads of times and never had any trouble with the vouchers.

But i always e-mail to confirm the booking before hand.

I have also booked with freedom direct, I have my voucher but have to pick pick plane tickets up at the airport which I am a bit nervous about - has anyone else done this?

We used Freedom Direct in January for a hotel booking. Presented the printed voucher at reception on arrival, everything went well no problems.

Hi we have booked our accommodation on the interent quite a few times and have always had hotel vouchers and found it to be no problem. If you are worried then phone or email your accommodation to check your booking is okay. We have never felt the need to to this though.
