thanks for that heard that it was closing for a refub!! How were the drinks? heard they were watered down?

well my first holiday to tunisia is nearly here!! off on the 9th sept ( any1 else going at this time?)

has anyone been here lately? my family are off there in mid october. just wondering what we should expect, have read osme reviews but they are all very different. Is there anything near by the hotel? ie bars, restaurants, shops

I don't know the hotel but it is shown as being in Sousse in the hotel reviews here although it is actually in Skanes as you will see from the map: http://www.holidaymaps.de/afrika/tunesien/skanes.html

I don't think there is a great deal to do in Skanes itself as it is mainly hotels but it is very easy to get out to other places such as Monastir, Sousse and Port El Kantaoui and transport is cheap if you haggle with the taxi drivers. The mausoleum of the late president at Monastir is well worth a visit - not a bit gloomy but all gold leaf and absolutely beautiful. There is also a Medina in Monastir and a nice marina.

The temperature at present is 37deg and it should still be nice in October, though not quite so hot - I will be back in Sousse on 10th October so I'm hoping for good weather.

Hi just booked last minute trip 1st oct to Houda golf and beach resort, cannot find any info re beach towels, really dont want to pack any ( 15kg luggage will be difficult enough) Jo

Any info about this hotel we have just found a cheap deal for next week and need to decide quick wether to go or not
