i am off to this hotel at the weekend for a week. i will post a report on my return. but everything i have read is very good (apart from the odd "usual" groan!).
dawn
Thanks very much for that. I'll look forward to reading your report when you get back!! Everywhere I have read has been really good about this hotel so hope you enjoy it!!!
Hello, Just booked for Oct half term after reading rave reviews on another web site, 10 out of 10 average score!! we have three boys aged 9 / 11 / /13, so they will have some friends to play with, sounds great may see you there??
Hi, that sounds great, we fly out on the evening of the 20th Oct from Luton. We are very familiar with Tunisia and as you say, all the reports are excellent for this hotel, hope it lives up to it's reputation!!! My boys are looking forward to the waterslides there and they love All Inclusive as they eat and drink all day. Hope weather is good too. My 17 year old daughter is coming with us too. Would be nice for boys to play together, have to look for you when we get there for a drink and to swap opinians on the hotel!!!!
We fly Sunday evening from Manchester, should be there about 21.00- 22.00hrs. All boys support different football teams, Man U, Newcastle and liverpool??? keep your eyes out for us We will be the white ones!!!!
Hi, hopefully we will all be less white by the time the holiday is over!! My eldest son is a Liverpool fan and my daugher and husband are Arsenal fans!!! Have just read a few more excellent reports on this hotel and have noted that it will be Ramadan while we are there although lots of my friends have been to Tunisia during this time and say nothing is different in the hotels!!! Look forward to seeing you there!!
The resort of Skanes is basically a row of hotels on a beach - there are no shops/bars close by - but you dont need them anyway when you go AI. You will have to catch taxi or bus to go into Sousse or Monastir.
The staff are excellent and so friendly, my two kids 8, 5 loved it. If you want a relaxing holiday you cant got wrong everything is there - its own waterpark, beach, nightclub. We dont like to do much travelling as our children get travel sick - so if all you want to do is relax - then you will enjoy it!!
Can I ask everyone who has booked for Oct who they have booked with? We have ended up booking for June 05 - because we have got it cheaper than the prices quoted for that half term week in October. We want so much to go back that week?
I'm so glad to hear that this seems to be a great hotel!! We're really looking forward to it now!! We booked our Oct half term week with Thomson Holidays - or rather their Skytours section. We actually fly out on the Wednesday before half term and got a good price of £1801 for 5 of us all inclusive from Luton!! We usually go with 1st Choice and they fly on Sunday 24th October but it is a little more expensive at around £2300 for 5 for half term week, that's why I decided to take the kids out of school for 2 days and save myself £700!! I'm not sure what availability either operastor has left now though for October.
Here's to new friends!!!
Rgds Paul, Mand and the three muscateers ( sorry meant to say 3 kids)
I have had no joy in booking for October half term week - no rooms available for 4 for 1 week. Still we have June to look forward to. I have posted some photos of the hotel in the gallery - I do hope you all have a wonderful time. Im sure you will. My brother is actually going on 10th Oct for 1 week so will post you any more info when he returns. If the animation team are as good as they were in June - you will have a great time! Fou Fou is great with the kids - my youngest (5) was a bit shy at first but soon came round and Liam (8) thought it was great there just being a football pitch! Just go relax and enjoy - oh and have a drink for us and say hello to all the gang - Fou Fou, Ramsey and Ahmed from Nicky, Paul, Liam and Danielle! xx
Had the best time ever.
Been to Tunisia 4 times now.
1st time Houda with friends and family.
2nd PEK with family.
3rd Sahara Beach with husband for my 30th.
4th Houda, with best mate. No family or partners etc.
Had a blast, some of the same staff as in 2001.
Had special red bands has wed been before.
Fuo Fuo, Ramsey still there and Abdul. Made great friends with some girls from Austria and Kent.
Had a really fab time in new Safari Disco accross the road and security walked us there and back ech night. Although we were safe as houses. Love this country and want to go back at end of October with Hubby and 2 girls.
I've just booked to go to the Houda over new year 2005/6 and am getting very mixed messages about it. Has anyone been there recently, as it seems from reading reviews that it has suddenly gone down hill.
All the staff are extremely polite and very friendly. Most of them speak fluent English.
I was very worried about the food as I am a vegetarian, but I ate three large meals a day, plus snacks. I had read some horror stories of fly's on the food and the food being raw, but when I went that was certainly not the case.
The only things bad that I would say is that there is no much lighting in the rooms, which makes getting ready a little hard. Also, the floors are sometimes a little slippy, other than that I have no complaints!
I would recomend this hotel 100% and I cannot wait to go back. Hope you enjoy your holiday.
The hotel is a little isolated but it's lovely. The food is good and there is plenty of it. The rooms are clean if a little basic. The entertainment was very good, however they have a new team there now so I'm not sure what it's like now.
If you are after a nice relaxing holiday you will have a good time!!
In relation to the last post you said that there is a new entertainment team there now. When did they start? I went in November, and as I mentioned in my reply, I am going back in April. Will the entertaiment crew be different?
Thanks
Yes there is a new team there now. LouLou has gone and so has BooBoo and Joe - my fiance!! Anis and SouSou and also FouFou are still there along with a new chief guy and some more of his team that he has bought in. I'm not sure what they are like as when I went last week I stayed with Joes family in Monastir. I'm sure you'll still have a great time there though!!
Thanks for letting me know, it is a shame that some of the staff have gone. At least some of them are there still, I just hope that they are still there in April when I go back!! Lucky you for having Joe as your fiance, hope everything goes well for you both!!!
So you remember Joe then? His real name is Hilel and he's gorgeous isn't he!! He's coming to England on 14th March and we are getting married in the summer!! Everyone got on well with him didn't they!! I'm sure the new team are just as nice!!
Yeah, I remember Joe, he was really nice and very good looking! So did you meet whilst you were on holiday? I hope that the new crew are just as nice, I am glad that SouSou and FouFou are still there as I got on well with them. FouFou is a hottie I bet you are really excited about your wedding, are you planning to live over here?
