Fiona has asked me to put on directions to the Carvery, if you are coming from Calangute/Baga area as you come into Candolim you will see the football field on your right hand side, just past there is a row of new shops just past here there is a right hand turning which is the main beach road, the Carvery is about half way down on the left hand side more or less opposite the Green Jacket Restaurant, the Carvery is an upstairs bar and restaurant but very well lit so you shouldn't miss it.

... have had some really excellent meets at the carvery and really enjoyed meeting such lovely poeple, met jipjip and O/H by chance last night too... I think we are taking over the place had an impromtu party for Squigs O/H the other wed evening at the meet... champagne and cake and loads of laughter...

have spoken to a few people out here who dont mind either way but we are a bit concerned about those who have just left the Uk or just arrived as they might not read these posts so 'what to do' ?? Maybe we should leave it at Tuesday?? this is the list for this week (Tues)

celcat thanks but i think the general feeling from anyone i have spoken to is that it wouldnt be fair to change it at this late stage as people wont all know.. so best maybe we keep it as planned Tues this week

While I'm not out there, I would be concerned that those already out there will make a point of turning up on Tuesday. Many people dont go near the internet when on holiday. We did change this date from Wednesday originally to help the Carvery. I think its a bit too late for changes IMO.

Sorry folks, I seem to have slipped up and not put a January meets thread on. Have now added for January and February.

Yes i agree,think we should leave it as Tuesday this month as i am sure there were people there last week that could not make the Wednesday. We have no means of contacting them now .See you all there

I am going to propose that we go with just one meet a week. We've given two a go and only one night seems to have been well attended at Why Not. Despite a good night being had by all, we have had few folks attending further ones. This season is a poor one but to be honest, our original two meets a week did not really work even when Goa was at its busiest. I know that Candolim is not ideal for some folks but at least you would know you could meet a lot of members when you got there. I think it would be a shame to look forward to the Calangute meet and then to turn up and be the only ones there.
Thinking ahead to next season- if we try two meets again, Why Not seems unfortunately to be a bit on the small side for the size of meets we are having in Candolim- and perhaps a bit too successful with loads of things on in different nights. It would be good to get suggestions for a bigger venue, which is not busy all the time, for Calangute for next season. On that note, I am wondering if we could try a couple of one- off meets( responding to a pm I had). Each meet at a different venue in Calangute so we could get feedback and make a decision for next season(either one meet only, or hope that things pick up and two meets can go ahead).
Over to you now- one meet? Stick with what we have? Trying one off meets?

A lot of members have viewed but not posted- perhaps unwilling to be the first to post an opinion?
So, I have to be honest and say what I think. Taking everything into consideration, in particular past seasons, I would vote for sticking with one meet and keeping to the Carvery, which has been a great success. But that's only my opinion.

If the Why Not meet is not supported I agree Fiona. Nothing worse than billy no mates if you go there
