I have heard that you can pay for your drinks at the end of your holiday but does anyone know how you can check your bill each day (I am to cautious).

You can charge drinks, snacks etc to your room to settle at the end of your stay. You will get a receipt from the waiter which you can keep to make sure that everything adds up to what you think it should do. I'm sure that if you ask at reception they would tell you the size of the bill you have run up so far as well.

I would pay daily,we went to sharm earlier on in the year stayed at the Nova hotel,at the end of the holiday upon checking out they tried to charge us for drinks at the pool bar,drinks from the mini fridge in the room (which we had never used} and wait for this a massage!! in the hotel spa,hubby and i just looked at each other and laughed.
We had to return later while they checked it all out,luckily the signitures on the receipts for the said items didnt match with any of ours.

This seems to be a problem at many hotels in Egypt. We were wrongly charged for mini-bar items at the Conrad in both 2005 and 2007.
We paid the bill in 2005 but were ready for them this year and flatly refused to pay as we knew damn well we hadn't consumed a single item from the mini-bar!
They gave us a free late check-out room as an apology.

I agree with what you are saying, Pippy, but I think it should be stated that this is not just a problem in Egypt. It has been tried on, in my experience, in almost every holiday destination that I have visited, and in fact, I can think of several instances in this country! I think we just all have to be aware and check our bills vigilantly.
We paid our bill daily but others in our group who waited until the endo f the week got an almightly shock.and it was complicated wading through all the receipts etc all in one go. it took ages and there were many mistakes.
Sorry to hear that you've all had problems with things being wrongly charged to your rooms. Apart from the mini-bar issue I guess this sounds like it's down to dishonest guests rather than staff. Perhaps I'll have to be less trusting in the future!
