Torviscas playa hotel e-mail address is
portland go to torviscas playa, there a subsidiary of thompsons, using the same airline etc(tomfly) going with them 24th nov
booked the torviscas playa for christmas week and have been told we can transfer elsewhere due to the ongoing building work in the street. Does anyone know if the ongoing construction in front of hotel will be finished by then, if not, will it spoil our holiday?. Should we move elsewhere?
If it is still not finished by then I don't think that the work that is left to do would cause you a major inconvenience. That is my opinion though and we all have differing expectations.
We were over last week & the road laying should have passed the Torviscas Playa by Christmas. Stay where you are (imo).
We were there in September and you could,nt hear any noise. You'll be fine!
hi we have just come back from torviscas and so have our friends who where staying in the torviscas playa there is work going on but it did not bother them they are still doing the road out side but the major work is out side the esmeralda hotel the holes in the road must be 25 feet depth where they are putting the drains in
Could someone advise me to the correct location of this hotel brochures state PDLA but forums state Coste Adejo
Which is right? and if it is the latter how long a walk is it into the town centre (in heels!!!)?
Thanks
Kitten PDLA is in fact in the district called Adeje and not the town of the same name which is often the cause of confusion. The hotel is in area called Torvicas Bajo and I would reckon a good 15min to 20 min walk in heels to the Veronicas area. If you go to this map then you will see the location of the hotel and you can click on the next map icon on the right to move closer to Veronicas.
I'm off to the Torviscas Playa on the 11th May with 3 of my mates, I can't wait!!! As we're all girlies, can anyone tell me how many plug sockets there are as we will need quite a few for charging phones and hair straighteners etc as we will most likely be using them at the same time!!
Thanks for the info Allmen
If you are all going to be using electrical items at the same time regardless of how many sockets there are just beware of overloading the electricity supply. Chances are the the main switch on the fuse board will trip out if you all use straightners/phone chargers and have too many lights on a t the same time.

thanks for that info, i'll be sure to tell my mates about it. I really don't want to be doing that.

Three weeks to go!! Finally got the tickets!!!
We have just booked for this hotel for Aug 2008 ( got to book early to get hols when kids are off ) and can anyone answer a few questions for me as we have never been to Tenerife before. We have a daughter who will be 15 by then so will it be ok for her and as we dont stay in the hotel much at night is there plenty going on around about the hotel is not in the middle of nowhere. We like to wander and try different places otherwise we get bored. Hope you can help.
This is prob a silly question to ask if there is a bar really close to the hotel and that'll be open late! As we should be getting to the hotel for 1am and we all would like to go for a drink after we've put our cases in the rooms.
Plenty going on round about in this area, and lots of places within easy walk of the hotel. We don't normally ever stay in the hotel at night and like to have a stroll around going to different bars - there are plenty. My kids - 16 and 13- have really enjoyed their holidays there.
Thanks for the reply!! I'm really can't wait, it's our 1st girlie hol!!
We are off to this hotel on fri 15th june for a week
Me and my sisters have a girlie hol every year !!!!!!!!!!
Hope you have a fab time and please post a report about the hotel & the surrounding area especially the bars when you return as this is out 1st time to tenerife as just the girls
Thanks & happy hols
Kitten
