Hi,
could anyone recommend somewhere to stay for a week or maybe two in Puerto Del Carmen please. We want to be fairly close to the beach and nightlife/shops etc.
We have been to Lanzarote before but to Costa Tequise and are thinking to go to Puerto Del Carmen this time.. is there much of a difference in the two and which one do you enjoy more?!

It's a no-nonsense self catering complex, good sized pool (no kiddies pool and main pool not shallow), clean, cheap and cheerful well equipped 1 bed apartments. It's up a bit of a hill, but just 2 mins to the main strip and beach. Shops and some restaurants even closer. Centro Atlantico is 5 mins walk and the Old Town 10 mins in the other direction.

Personally I prefer PDC to Costa Teguise. We stayed in the Atalaya Apartments in PDC last April and thought them to be well-equipped, very clean and a good standard for what are officially only 2 key grade apartments. Their location is also pretty good being only 10 minutes walk from the main Playa Grande beach. The year before we stayed in CT in a Holiday Property Bond-owned apartment at the Santa Rosa complex, again in April so I have no experience of these resorts at other times of the year. Although pleasant enough, I found CT a little sterile and perhaps a bit too low-key even for a middle-aged old fogie like me. I can't speak for other months of the year of course. Costa Teguise is also a windier resort which is why it is popular with windsurfers.
