A few years ago took the boat from Playa d'en Bossa to Illetas beach on Formentera, a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear waters. I seem to remember it was a bit tricky getting from the boat to the beach and we had to wade thro water, and climb rocks to get to the beach.
Would love to take the children and husband again this year but husband has bad back so need to know what it is now like! Does this boat still run and if so anyone done it this year for prices, times etc.
Used to be a rep 20+ yrs ago and Illetas was empty then and THE place to go on our day off - last time I went about 6 years ago, it was packed but still fantastic.
any info gratefully received...9 sleeps to go!!
Hi i've read on another site that it's changed this year - 20 euros for the return boat -it do'nt stop at illiettes now - apparently you now go to the main port and hop on the coach - 6 euros to illiettes and then on to es pujouls - you can use the bus unlimited between these 2 beaches all day so i hear - or you can pay 10 euros and take the trip to la mola and around the island after the beaches - i'm curious myself as we're off over in 6 weeks and always go over there a couple of times just for the beaches and waters.
As I've already written on another topic elsewhere on this forum, things changed a few years back when the area was designated as some form of "nature reserve". This meant a restriction on the number of sun-loungers and parasols allowed on the beach.
By the time our ferry arrived, every bed and parasol had been taken, obviously by poeple living on Formentera or by people arriving on the earlier ferries from Ibiza Town.
The two restaurants on the beach both had private sections of beach with beds and parasols for clients. If memory serves, they are called Restaurante Es Ministre and Restaurante Juan y Andrea. You could always contact them before hand and book a table, though be warned that they can be expensive.
That situation may have changed again in the two years since I've been, but you could contact the tourist board, or even the two restaurants mentioned, to find out.
Will wait til we get there and decide. Have looked up ordinary ferries from Ibiza Town cos could then get taxi to the beach, but think we may just end up staying in the hotel and saving money!!
7 sleeps to go...LOL
